When you edit the values in the script you need to make sure to keep the brackets. That section should look like this (you can change the amounts but the brackets and semicolon need to remain:

	var set_X = [-1500,1500];   
	var set_Y = [-100,1000];
	var set_Z = [-5000,5000];

Trying to run 3D text creator from file, getting ‘Unable to execute script at line 22. Expected: ]’

Thanks a lot for the script it works very well. Just one thing I was wondering if you could help me with-
When I use the import from a file I can’t seem to get the text to import with carrage returns. I have a plain .txt file setup with a “hard return” at the end of each line of text and 3 returns between paragraphs. I’m trying to import and it imports into my AE layer as one line of text instead of a paragraph. I’ve tryed to add a hard return to each line in my txt file and save it as plain text, windows format with various options on export CR/LF, only CR, etc- but it won’t import except as one long line of text per layer. Do I need to change the script somehow?

Great script, big time saver!
Is there a way of arranging the layer order according to its z co-ordinate?
I have several hundred layers which I would like to animate off sequentially.
As the layers are distributed randomly I am having to manually reorder the layers so that I can acheive this.
Would be a great help.

The script only distributes the text in 3D space. If you want them to be animated you can try flying a camera through the 3D space. Check out the Aetuts+ tutorial linked above for an example of how to use this script in an animation.
