This plugin becomes handy when you have a bunch of footages where the White Balance wasn’t set properly and you need to color balance it before working with it. Just select a mid-tone color in your image, and ft-Auto White Balance will take care of the rest.

The plugin has the choice of two methods for white balancing:

Von Kire

Scale RGB

This plugin will create mattes that are attached to objects in 3D renders by using a PPass (also called point pass, position pass or position point pass). This will allow you to create custom mattes in After Effects without having to go back to the 3D program to generate them. What the demo movie (top right button) to see the plugin in action in After Effects. **Please note that this is no audio on the demo movie.

Until now this functionality was only available in Nuke, so we are very excited to bring this tool to After Effects.

Here is a tutorial on how to create a point pass in 3DS Max using VRay:
Similar to the way zebra-stripping works on digital cameras.

Usage:

Apply the filter on a comp or adjustment layer, and place a level or exposure or curve filter above it.

In the example project included with the plugin, if you open the RENDER comp, you will see that the “ft-Brightness Check” is applied on the “footage” comp, and the filter is already applied to it. By just activating the Level which is just above, you will see that the “error” will disappear.

This is a Pixel bender plugin that allows for quick and easy lens distortion correction or effects including chromatic aberration.

This is a Pixel Bender plugin that allows for quick and easy lens distortion correction or effects including chromatic aberration.

When working on tracking or composition CG elements with shot footage, you usually have to deal with lens distortion. At first you would undistort your footage in your matchmove or compositing package, then track it, render your CG and make sure to apply the same distortion to your CG so it will look and match perfectly! While this methos workd, it makes you go back and forth with your different applications to undistort, distort again and so on!
ft-Cubic Lens Distortion let you manage all those distortion steps in one place: After Effects. It is based on the Syntheyes cubic lens distortion algorithm! You will be able to un-distort your live footage, and distort your CG renders without going back to Syntheyes (or any other app you are using for lens distortion)!
On top of that, you will be able to apply finishing effects like chromatic aberration to your final composition.
