SaveCompAsProject is a script that, as it's names says, export any of your composition as a new project.

SaveCompAsProject is a script that, as the name says, export any of your composition as a new project.

Select the composition you want to export as new (reduced) projects and clic on the export button.

Since version 1.5 you can choose the directory where you want to export your compositions. Just press the change button in the ‘Destination’ panel.

You can also automatically create subfolders in your destination folder with two checkboxes. ‘From Project’ creates a subfolder named after your original project name, and ‘From Comp’ creates a subfolder named after the composition names. If both options are checked, you’ll have the composition named subfolders inside the project named subfolder (as expected).

If you need versioning support, you can enable it in the ‘versioning’ panel. By default ‘Auto’ is enabled, and keeping this option will add an incrementing number at the end of the exported project if a file is already found. You can also specify a number manually by unchecking ‘Auto’.

Script available in English, and partially in French, Spanish, Italian and German

Copy Paste Markers (CPM) is a script allowing you to copy a marker and paste it on any other layer.

After Effects does not allow copy/pasting markers in their UI for now, so this script is here to help.

To use it, simply select the layer where the marker you want to copy is, and put the current time indicator (CTI) on it. Press the copy button. And now, select the layer(s) where you want to copy it, put the CTI where you want to paste it in time, and press Paste.

sParticular is a script that helps you with 3D integration when using Trapcode Particular.

sParticular is a script for After Effects that helps you with 3D integration when using Trapcode Particular.

If you apply particular on a layer, you will see that the particles are 3D aware if you have a camera. But if you have layers in your 3D space, the particles won’t intersect with them. Particles are always “in front of” the 3D layers that are below the particules layer in the layer stack.

Particular has a visibility option, where you can set a range where your particules are visible or not, let’s say from 0px to 200px in Z space from the camera.

What the script does is sort your layers in your comp so that the 3D layers stack on the composition regarding to their Z position, and then duplicates your particle layer between every 3D layers. All thoses instances have their visibility option expressioned to fill the Z range between the front and behind 3D object. Like that your particles are intersecting properly with your layers.

It’s not a true intersection, it rather an automation of a workaround, but it works great. Plus there are some options if you want to update your particle layer so that every instance get updated too.

Supports Particular from v1.5 and above (including Particular 64bit update for CS5), and works fine with multiple Particular effects on the same layer.

XML Gibson is a script that allows you to export your composition to XML files.

XML Gibson is a script that allows you to export your composition to XML files.

XML files are commonly used in the post production industry to allow cross product and automated workflows. After Effects can only save it’s projects to XML, but only very few paramters are available.

With XML Gibson, you can export your composition into XML with almost all informations from your composition: layers, keyframes, effects, all in editable form. Some information can’t be exported to XML due to scripting restriction, such as curves, histograms, and some text properties.

Daniel from Safitech made a very cool tutorial on how to convert the XML exported by the script to HTML 5 animations: http://blog.dab.la/animation-for-iphone-and-html5.htm

*Please note that the XML file exported is in a generic format that is not immediately compatible with other applications like Final Cut Pro without further processing.
