AE: Editing Long Comps Like Footage

    Hello...I have a two-hour comp of footage that contains various footage items that I need to edit down to a one-minute parent comp.

    With footage, editing is easy, you go in and select your start and end points and then when you pop back out the footage layer is adjusted accordingly.  But I don't know of a similar way to do this with comps.

    As a workaround I'm just lengthening my parent comp to two hours and turning on time remap to get coordinates to edit, or go into the child comp, position the current time marker, then back out to get my trim position.

    It would be great to hear about an aescript script/plugin to allow a more footage-like editing method....if such a thing exists.
