Expressions are an important part of the serious After Effects user’s workflow but can be daunting for many users, especially beginners. iExpressions is an easy-to-use tool that harnesses the power of expressions without the need for writing or understanding code, allowing all users to harness their power
John Dickinson, Motionworks
I think its one of the best implementation of expressions into AE workflow.
Its logical, easy to use and harness much power and possibilities.Eran Stern, sternfx.com
iExpressions rock! They take your work to the next level. You really owe it to yourself to try iExpressions – it makes creating Expressions in AE a cinch. It’s about time someone created something like this for AE.

What are iExpressions?
iExpressions allow you to use After Effects expressions without writing or reading a single line of code. It ships with over 85 iExpressions in seven different categories – and each of them comes with an easy and intuitive to use interface. As its such a huge package, it is difficult to explain all its possibilities in a few lines.
It starts with the bread and butter stuff you will need every day: Wiggle properties or connect them via links in various ways. Do you sometimes use parenting? Think of linking iExpressions as a much more flexible way to link stuff together. You can, for example, automatically increase the opacity of a layer when the opacity of the linked layer decreases. Or you can also link the x and y position of a layer to two different properties or use time delayed links to create trailing effects.
There is also a lot of more specialized stuff, like iExpressions which automatically animate properties according to sound or generate different kinds of random text. Here is an example of what you can do with the physics simulations contained in the bundle:
And here is an example what you can do with Audio and Linking iExpressions:

The definitive collection of scripts and plugins for Adobe After Effects

Im curious.. I was all set to make a purchase of ease and wizz and not to bad mouth another script. Would iExpressions kinda make that obsolete?
I kinda stumbled on to this one and was amazed with the flexibility and amout of expressions you have.. I havent tried it.. but if it does what you say it doesn Im surprized more people arent snapping this up.. thanks for any comment. Also site licences is there a limit to the amout of users?
iExpressions and Ease and Wizz are complementary in the sense that the expressions used by Ease and Wizz are not included in the iExpressions library.
We are happy how the news about iExpressions spread, but the tool is still very new so this just takes some time.
A Site License can be installed on an unlimited number of machines within one branch office of a company.
Just pay the man what he’s worth.
Sad.
This is not something you ‘need’ for your work.
It’s a tool that saves you time and money casue yr too damn lazy to do it yourself.
So recognize that and pay to play.
SO tired of this culture where you think everybody owes you something. Wake up.
Well said Ben. And to TheDesigner2012, if this is too expensive for you, then learn to write your own expressions. It seems like you feel Mathias owes it to you to set his pricing at a level you feel is appropriate. He owes you or anyone else here anything. We decide wether we want to support him by paying the price he sets, and if we don’t buy at the price he sets he can reduce his price or stop providing products for us. If you are a working designer that can use these expressions, the cost will be payed back in one job.
Obviously, the statement “He owes you or anyone else here anything.” should be: He owes you or anyone else here nothing.
If you’re actually doing work then time=money. How much time do you think it would take you to achieve a level expression comprehension anywhere near what Iexpressions provides? Even if you are totally solid in that area, how long does it take to write out one exactly as needed every time you need it? If you have ever spent a few hours fooling with a complicated expression you’d quickly realize, time being money, the set price is a huge saver..
Ok, thank you Mathias
Awesome job on iExpressions.
I just bought this. Can not wait to see what all it can do. Please do more tuts on it=)

Hi LS,
yes, I just returned from a week of holidays and the next things on my todo list are now more tutorials on iExpressions
hi Mathias
would this work even better in combination with your “expression timeline” script?
Nicky
Hi Nicky,
yes, the combination of iExpressions and ExpressionTimeline is very powerful. The timeline works with arbitrary expressions and hence also with iExpressions. Only the usage is a bit cumbersome, currently, since the ExpressionTimeline cannot show the nice interfaces of the iExpressions but just their source code. It the long term, we might do something like an iExpression-Timeline.
Thank you all for your feedback! I appreciate any honest opinion.
We have no plans to lower the price. We think about the option to offer smaller bundles of iExpressions to make it affordable for people with a small budget. But to get the complete tool the current special offer is definitely the cheapest option.
This is a great tool, Mathias.
Love the idea of smaller bundles. That would be an awesome compromise. I’m sure that will be a very popular option and I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
Mathias,
I think you can sell your product for whatever price you want. Consumers should not expect you to lower your prices, if they don’t want to purchase it, they don’t have to. It’s not your job to adjust your prices for the economy if you don’t want to. Designers are certainly willing to pay that much and more for plugin’s like trapecode particular and others. Why not yours? The glitch effect plug-in costs $50, your product does far more than a glitch effect.
On a side note I think the product looks brilliant. Expressions have always been a challenge for me to use, beyond the wiggle expression haha. I say give the guy a break. Let him do what he wants and you do what you want – by purchasing it or not.
Love this site btw.

I think you are getting the wrong message, so chill out dude. What we are saying is some people can not afford to spend $200. Every business has low price specials sometimes. I think Mathias is brilliant and I am not beating up on the guy. He does have a right to sell it at his price, but I am pointing out facts. I also run a company, but have had to lower my prices just to help the people out. Not everything is about the big buck. Anyway….nice tool Mathias. I will end up buying it=)
So you plan on buying it for that price? Interesting. Maybe the programmers know something about pricing
Me making my post was not meant to become a presidential debate. Last time I checked by BC, my name was not obama. And no, just because a person is a programmer does not mean he or she knows about business economics at all. I can’t began to spit off all of the people that I know who went to college and was smart at that, but are complete idiots who are just about out of brain juice like a car about out of gas. Yes you are correct about the bundle deal. Also sometimes it is good to offer your product at the lowest rate possible, then mark up the price after a while, or just keep it affordable at the gate. You have to look at the majority and inject your vision into that field. It is the pure energy vibration of that matter. Most people are only thinking about what I am saying. I am just pointing out the facts and it is pretty clear as a crystal shine that a few others on these comments are on the same vibrational level that I am surfing upon. It’s not always about the wave, it is about the deep.
Huh???…Okay man you can have it. The discussion belongs to you friend. You won’t hear from me anymore. Looks like we’ve both made our ideas clear. I’ll keep my remaining thoughts on the matter to myself.
Take care, and I wish you the best.
Sincerely,
Brandon
Hey bro, no hard feelings. We both made strong points. I just want everyone to be happy and satisfied. I just think if Mathias sees more comments from us designers who are interested in this cool little script, and letting their voice and feelings be heard, he might lower the price. Just don’t take our conversation the wrong way man. We are all good bro=)
Much Love Homie=)

I totally agree. This race to the bottom pricing is a large part of what is creating the “tough economic times”. If creatives and programmers would stop trying to erode each others pricing models, maybe we would all be better off as an industry. It’s hard getting clients to empathize with pricing when everyone is out doing free spec work, dirt cheap creative, or free creative for crowd-sourced “make our next commercial” contests. Have some pride in your work AND the work of your peers. Charge right, let other charge a respectable amount, and stop whining. Just because some of you are operating the “free” version of the creative suite, doesn’t mean the rest comes free too. For F sakes, be professionals!
I tried the demo version and think it’s a great tool which will safe a whole lot of time.
Sure it’s not very cheap but consider the work that went into creating it. Most of the great Plug ins we love and use everyday cost as much as this collection and we pay those prices. why not for scripts if they help get the job done.
great work mamo … but is unaffordable..at this prices Dan ebberts would be a millionaire!
A lot more expensive for almost every user around here i guess.
Mathias, i certainly appreciate all your work and commitment for the AE community, but, and i guess you already think about it, but what’s best, to sell a few at a higher price or to sell a lot at an afordable price ?
i think 200 $ is much much too expensive, i sadly but definitely forget iexpressions, even if it seems to be an incredible tool…
Why is this so expensive? The price needs to be dropped.
Thank you for your feedback. iExpressions is a very complex and comprehensive tool and producing all the iExpressions is simply not cheap. With the current discount you pay less that 3$ per iExpression. For this price we need to produce the iExpression itself, its documentation and tutorials. It sounds like a lot, but you get a lot for it.
Thanks for your reply Mathias, and I do understand all of the hard work that went into making it, but I have to agree with Stef. You would sell a lot more if you would sell it at a decent price. If it were like $50 I would have bought it already. At this time when the economy is so screwed up and us designers are not getting much work right now, it is hard for us to pay almost $200 for this, no matter how awesome it is. I think you’re gonna see more comments like mine and Stefs until you lower the price to a price that we all can afford. If you lower it I will buy it for sure.
omg you greedy lil – - – - es.
Listen to yourselves. He priced it based on his labor and his expected revenue.
If you cant afford it, dont buy it, and hanf code yr own jobs.
My God. Do you think he doesn’t liek to to eat either in these
‘hard economic times?’
Seriously sad whining.
Mathias, please price how you feel is right. I love your mocha script and I think you do great work. And if I want this bad enough, I will pay for it like a man, and not a whiny child.
mdot
I agree.
