I just wanted to thank you.
Me and my family haven’t damaged directly.
But the damage Japan got was really huge.
We are also making preparations for other earthquakes.

I feel easy to hear that the script is working again.
But I’m going to continue checking it to satisfy myself.

I am cautious to make any conclusions. But I updated several other scripts and kd_AutoFade is working again for me.

Takumi, we are very saddened for the tragedy in Japan this week. We support you in your country’s struggles.

Sorry for late response and having trouble.
And I was grateful using kd_AutoFade.

I’m testing include compatibility with other scripts.
But the problem doesn’t occur on my PC.
I’ll continue investigating and checking Adobe script’s specification.
So please be patient and wait to solve.

If you notice something new, please let know me.
I’ll check comments here.

David, if you read the comments you’ll see my similar plight.

I get the impression that Takumi is very busy and might not have time to support the product. I’d love for someone else to pick up the banner and run with it. I do not at all mean that as a criticism. He sure came up with a great concept and a very useful script.

I love this script. I use it every day at work on my Windows computer. I can’t get it to work on my MacPro at home office. Any suggestions? I downloaded version 1.3 and it didn’t work. I had an earlier version but it will not work, too. I am using AE CS5, MacPro, Snow Leopard 10.6.6. This is a great time saving script and really would like to have it working on both systems. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

It’s such a silent death…it’s hard to trace…and every time I “fix” the problem, it’s only a few work sessions before it re-occurs.

I suspected a compatibility problem with ft_toolbar for these reasons:
1. It was about the time that I installed the toolbar that kd_AutoFade started to fail.
2. Last night by pulling just that one script (ft-Toolbar) then AutoFade worked again.

I have not created any AutoFade buttons, nor integrated kd_Autofade with other scripts.

Sorry you are having trouble. Just tested kd_AutoFade with ft_Toolbar on Mac CS5 here without any problems. Can you tell us more about how you are working? Are you triggering AutoFade from a button in ft_Toolbar? If so how are you setting up your button in toolbar?

It appears I’m talking to myself in these comments, LOL. But I’ve got 80 minutes of training animations to complete and I find this script remarkably useful. It stopped working yet again.

My current suspicion is that one compatibility problem is with these two:

kd_autofade
and
ft-Toolbar

Takumi, I have disabled 3/4 of my scripts so that I can successfully resume working with kd_AutoFade.

Your script is more valuable to me right now than 15 of my favorite scripts combined….

It’s a pity that something is broken with compatibility still somewhere …but oh well…mathias, Alvarez and the others are going to have wait to get mac in my pipeline.

I’d love to give you a happy report…but it’s still dead. It shows up in my layout just like before. It returns no error message. It just does….nothing, no matter the settings selected.

I got it working again, but don’t know if this is only a temporary solution.

I took 20% of my script out and re-launched. It didn’t work.
I took another 20% of my script out and re-launched. It didn’t work.
I took another 20% of my script out and re-launched. It didn’t work.
I took another 20% of my script out and re-launched. It worked!

I returned 20% scripts back and re-launched. It still worked.
I returned 20% scripts back and re-launched. It still worked.
I returned 20% scripts back and re-launched. It still worked.
I returned 20% scripts back and re-launched. It still worked.

I don’t know if there is a specific script that is incompatible with your script. I don’t know what the problem was. But that’s how I fixed it for now.
