Installation Issues

For installation issues, please see the Aescript ZXP Installer FAQ.

"beat detection error: IBT failed" on Windows

There are most likely some dlls missing on your system. Please install the x86 (32bit, not the x64 although you are running a 64bit system!!) version of the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 from this link.

"beat detection error: IBT failed" on MacOS 10.8 or older

Should be fixed in BeatEdit 1.0.2.

Please update to 1.0.2 (if you are running a trial, download the new trial from here, if you have purchased BeatEdit, you find the new version in the "My Downloads & Licenses" section of your Aescripts customer account). If it is still not working with 1.0.2 please open a support ticket.

Error "still could not find footage item although I just added it"

Should be fixed in BeatEdit 1.0.2.

Please update to 1.0.2 (if you are running a trial, download the new trial from here, if you have purchased BeatEdit, you find the new version in the "My Downloads & Licenses" section of your Aescripts customer account). If it is still not working with 1.0.2 please open a support ticket.

BeatEdit shows up in the Premiere Pro menu, but when started the BeatEdit window is empty

This issue seems to only occur on Premiere Pro CC 2015.0. To fix it, please update to Premiere Pro CC 2015.1 or newer. One user (thank you for the feedback, Florian!) could also fix this issue by deactivating the DeepScreen of his anti-virus program Avast Pro 2015.

drop down list content layout issue

On some Windows systems, when you click on the drop down to choose whether you want to generate sequence markers or clip markers, the list does not appear where you expect it to appear, but on any other part of your screen.

What seems to happen here is that when you move the BeatEdit window to another place, the drop down list does not notice this and if you use it, it still appears at the position where it has been before. As far as we know the issue only affects very few machines and only on Windows. First please make sure that your graphics card drivers are up to date. If this does not help, please submit a bug report to Adobe. Adobe is investigating the issue and the more users report it, the quicker they will be able to fix it. Please include as much information in your bug report as possible including screenshots, infos about your operating system, graphics card(s) and monitor(s).

Any other issue?

If you have any other issue with BeatEdit or the described solutions did not work for you, please open a support ticket. We really want to make sure that BeatEdit is working for everyone and if you have an issue that is not listed here, you are most likely the first one who experienced it. We do our best to fix all isues as quickly as possible, but we can only fix issues that we are aware of.
