Satya Meka has a hot new plugin on aescripts. It is called Data Glitch and it creates awesome realistic digital image glitches with total ease. Something you would see during a satellite transmission or a cable broadcast or from a damaged disk. Bad TV plugin is great for analog TV look, but this is 2010 and you hardly see anything thatâ??s analog anymore. This plugin simulates a realistic digital glitch effect.
In real-life most of the glitches occur due to problems in encoding/decoding and sometimes data corruption. This plugin does exactly that. It encodes the data, glitches the data and then decodes it similar to the real life situation.

Is this a native filter or pixel bender? Either way, looks awesome!
It is a native fiter compatible with all versions of AE including a 64-bit native CS5 version.
sweet!
will buy as soon as available-nice video choice too
Sweet! I was working on something similar based on the idea of encoding to a jpeg then corrupting and decoding (Early test clip here http://xn--c1h.tumblr.com/post/600966005/glitch-geode ) but I wasn’t quite skilled enough yet to get it into AE where I really wanted it so I’m glad someone else had the same idea.
Love it. Good glitches are worth paying for!
