Throttle 1.2

This is the CS4 update to the popular Throttle script.  It works with the new multi-processing throttle system that was introduced with CS4 that manages how many CPU’s are to be left free for other applications.  This version also adds a little known hidden preference that allows you to set the quality of the Toggle Pixel Aspect Correction button in the Comp View:
 Toggle Pixel Aspect Ratio button
(After Effects needs to be restarted after changing the PAR quality)

This version is also compatible with CS3.

Good job here , Lloyd! I’ve recently began working on a real-time graphics processor, ie videogame. Can you help me in figuring out the optimum way in exporting AE renders so that they are viewed as seamlessly integrated motion graphics by the engine ? I mean, if I want a complex motion scene, is there hope in exporting it in a friendly format or am I doomed to the cogs of a 3D studio editor ?

Cheers! and thanks for your wonderful help up on this site!

what does the idle render means? i mean, what does it do?

  8. lloyd said on April 17th, 2009 at 9:31 am

@gybp - it means that AE will continue rendering when it is in the background. For example if you have a frame that takes 5 minutes to render and you switch to a web browser before it is finished rendering, it will continue rendering in the background while you surf the web. The default is for AE to stop rendering the frame when it’s not the foreground application.
