ExtendScript Developer Utility

ExtendScript Developer Utility (E.D.U.) is a helpful script for the user who is learning and/or developing Adobe® After Effects® scripts. Even the casual scripting hobbyist can benefit from this scripting tool. With E.D.U. you can easily enter an ExtendScript object, such as "app" and get it's available Properties and Methods.* There are two dedicated areas for the Properties, and Methods results. E.D.U. also offers a scripting area where you can launch, and test script code right there in After Effects as well as save your code to a JSX file for use in After Effects. Being that the code is considered live, you can directly effect your currently open project. Some scripts can require a lot of typing, which is why E.D.U. also includes Macro presets that allow you to create common bits of code with a single click. The hopes are that this tool will help educate and assist in the creation of more ingenious scripts which have helped make After Effects® the powerful application it is today.

This script is being released as part of an After Effects ExtendScript Training video series focused on teaching users unfamiliar with ExtendScript. The training series itself is free to view and includes over 9 hours of content with step by step explanations. View it free. The series begins here: After Effects ExtendScript Training
