PE Effect Missing Generic

Hi NAME

Apologies for the inconvenience this has caused. The first thing I would check is that if you're on AE versions 2024 or newer, that the effect is not disabled inside the Effect Manager. If it is disabled, it will confusingly display the effect as missing!

The Effect Manager can be found under Effect -> Manage Effects

Ensure each plugin is enabled:

You can then restart After Effects to use the plugin. If the plugin is not showing up in the Effect Manager, then something has gone wrong with the installation. In that case, let's try uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin. There are two main ways to install plugins:

Method 1 - automatic install with the aescripts manager app (quickest):

Firstly download the manager app if you don't have it, or update your manager app to the latest version if you do (then restart it).

Once the manager app is open, go to settings and set the preference called: Adobe Plugins & Extensions: Install to Mediacore folder

This will perform a single installation into mediacore which will install for all versions of Ae later than CS6

Now go to the product you want to install for. Click uninstall if shown, then install. Don't worry about which version it says it's installing for; because we set it to install to mediacore it will be installed for all versions.

Method 2 - Manual Install:

Alternatively you can do a manual install by downloading the plugins (login if required) and manually placing them inside the following directory depending on your operating system:

Win:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore\
 
Mac:
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore/

After either installation method: 

Restart your host application (including Adobe Media Encoder if used), and your plugin should be in the Effects & Presets menu under Plugin Everything.
 
If you are still having issues, please let us know if there were any error messages and include screenshots or video capture of the install file, ensuring the file size can be seen in the screenshot so we can validate if it's correct.
