I am running into a consistent problem with bqHeadRig that I can't figure out. When I set Up/Down KFs (whether for a shape layer itself or using a script-created Up/Down Null), the Up/Down elements move correctly when the character is oriented in one direction, but seem to flip when it is faced the other. For instance, in my current character, I have a pony tail layer. The Left/Right keyframes are on the path, and the Up/Down keyframes are on the position and rotation. When the character is faced right, and the character is faced down, the pony tail rotates forward and moves up, as I desire. Likewise, when the character is faced up, the pony tail rotates backwards and moves down. But when the character is faced *left* and looks down, the pony tail rotates forward and moves down — the opposite of what I would want. I've now run into this problem with a couple different rigs, and I can't see what I am doing wrong. Can anyone advise?
Just wondering when / if you are going to make anymore tutorials for your plugin? I'm totally fine with rigging the heads but then when it comes to having eye blinks, eyebrows or mouth movement I have no idea what to do next. Would be great to have more helpful in depth tutorials like this to continue enjoying the use of this great plugin.

Hey Arn!
So sorry for the delay -- I've been away -- my sincerest apologies!
Interesting issue -- if I understand it correctly, my best guess would be that the keyframes are not timed correctly or something. I'd love to take a look at a project file or something to try to understand it better. I am messaging you directly to get to the bottom of this.
Great plug-in! I have one question here: Is there anyway to create more then one rig in a project? says if I have a character with two heads?
It seems like if I created one Head null and I can only select that one instead of creating a new one?
Thank you!
Hey Kuni!
Yes, Arn is correct, you can name/rename the rigs to differentiate.
For example, I'll usually name a rig before I start it (but you can always rename after), so that way the control layers are called "NAME-HEAD NULL" instead of just "HEAD NULL."
If you're having any issues with this, let me know and I can assist you further.

Hey Andy!
Yes! I am currently working on new videos and an update to the script. I hoped to have them out this month, but it's looking more like early October.
Until then, I'm going to message you directly and see if I can help with some specific questions.
I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out the Motion Path Null feature. I may be missing a step somewhere but I can't figure it out. Can you post a more in-depth tutorial on this that is a little slower and goes step by step through the entire process?

Thanks for making this!

Hey Jeff!
Absolutely. Yes, it's one of those things that's difficult to explain, but works better visually.
In the mean time, I'm going to direct message you about it, maybe help you until I post the video.
I just bought the script, but when I fill the field with serial number, nothing happens. I can''t see the script's name in the menu tab "window" where I can see all other scripts which I runned on. Can you help me? I'm with CC 2015.0 release.

Hey Dimitar!
So sorry about this. I am messaging you now to figure this out ASAP.
Unfortunately a family medical emergency caused work on HeadRig2 to be delayed some months, but I can assure you it is in the works as we speak and should be in the next month or so.
Apologies for the delay, but you won't be disappointed by HeadRig2.

Great script man i got the basics of it but can anyone help me how did you managed to get the 3dness/shadow(of the ears/chin) work in sync with the left/right or up/down rotation of head as shown in the female character in your video:
is any effect applied cuz ican't see any adjustment layer and thats the only way i know to create 3d effect
@Himanshu -- Thanks for your kudos! All of the 3dness/shadow stuff is faux-3d (it's all actually 2d).
The ears have L/R position keyframes, then they're rigged to an Up/Down null for the U/D, and then I converted the Up/Down null to a Motion Path null to kf the motion path during the U/D.
To make the shadow, I just duplicate the head path and created a new shape group, added a "merge paths" and set it to "intersect" and then added a 2nd path where the shadow would be (this makes it only show the part where the head shape and the shadow path intersect). I then keyframed the shadow path's position for the L/R and anchor point for the U/D (or something like that).
I'll message you directly so we can talk about this further.
Also, there's an upcoming update to HeadRig that'll be accompanied by more training videos where I'll go into more detail about faking 3d-ness with 2d.
I am currently finishing up HeadRig2 and this update will include many more training videos showing some of these specifics.
BUT there have been a couple of requests for this. HeadRig2 is at least a month from launch, so I'll make a "quick and dirty" video about this and post it here very soon!
Thanks for the interest! I'll make sure to message you when the video is up.
Hey there! I'm running into the same "Unable to execute script at line 1. Unable to create temporary image file" issue, also running CS6. However, I've tried installing the trial version again and again, to no avail. Will this issue be fixed in HeadRig2?
@ChrisMaher -- So sorry you're running into this! Yes, this will be fixed in the next version, but I have a fix for it for you now. I'm messaging you now.
i can't run headrig anymore. as soon as i try to open the script the license code box appears. when i enter my license code this error message pops up. can anyone help please?

After Effects version 17.7.1
i attached my system specs.

bq_HeadRig is not compatible with macOS Catalina (or above) and since it has been discontinued for a long time it unfortunately won't be updated. We recommend that you look into Joysticks 'n Sliders https://aescripts.com/joysticks-n-sliders/ instead.
