Topograph brings elevation maps and topography to After Effects! This effect lets you create unique designs and animations from your footage. It can be used for animating and for designing on one frame with interactive feedback.
I've been creating this sort of effect quite often for some time now using AE's built in effects but it's so cumbersome layering all of them together and tweaking by feel, this wraps it into a much more intuitive interface, has higher fidelity line quality in addition to achieving features that wouldn't be possible with the built in effects. Awesome job, thanks so much for making this!

hello, how can i achieve the 3d flower effect like in your tutorial video?
Hi Anton, the 3D flower was created to explain what's the idea behind the plugin, it's not the actual output of the plugin. To create it, I used a displacement map in Cinema 4D. Using displacement, in a shader or as a deformer, the luminance of the image modifies the height of the 3D object.
is there a way to have the parts in between the lines filled with a plain color?
so the output is not lines but blocks of colors in the same shape, to acheive something similar to the "example8" photo (easy to do with a still in photoshop, but not sure how to do in AE)

anyway hope you are well in these crazy times
Hey ! Thanks for the kind words
It's a feature i want to do in the future, for now, you can use Paint Bucket from AE native effects, similar to filing it in photoshop. you can animate its position to follow topograph movement.
