WilI be able to install Deep Glow 2 side-by-side with Deep Glow 1 so I maintain backwards compatibility with older projects?
Hi Michael
Yes you can. Deep Glow 2 is a recognised by After Effects as a separate plugin. This is handy if you have old projects that use Deep Glow 1 and you want to maintain backward compatibility, whilst still using v2 on newer projects.
Although for some reason I get a green circle around the layer when I use Hable Filmic for tone-mapping?
Hi Stephen
That doesn't sound good, could you please send a screenshot of the issue along with your system specs under "About & Support" in the plugin, so we can diagnose the cause?

I might be missing something obvious, but I recently upgraded to DeepGlow 2 and am trying to use it on countries in GeoLayers 3. It seemed to work perfectly in my last project, but now it won’t render the glow on the GeoLayers elements.
Interestingly, it works fine on simple shapes and images, but not on the drawn GeoLayers elements. I’m relatively new to After Effects, so I’m struggling to figure out what’s different this time. Troubleshooting or Googling hasn’t helped, especially since the updated Glow is so new.
This might just be a basic AE setting I’m overlooking, but I’m at a loss. Any advice?

Hi Jørgen
First thing I would try is going into the Quality tab and changing the Buffer Expansion Mode from Auto to Comp and seeing if that fixes it. Regardless would you please be able to open a support ticket and send through the .aep so we can find a solution to this?

I tried your suggestion, but unfortunately, it didn’t work. I've opened a support ticket. ❤️ I have a link to the problem if someone else knows how to fix it:
