In scenes tracked with AE's 3D camera tracker, the ground plane of your scene in most cases ends up as an oblique plane in 3D space. Orient World fixes this - with a single click you make a solid layer the ground plane of your scene and orient everything accordingly.

just to be sure: Did you use the new version 1.1 of Orient World and did you set in the advanced settings the world center to comp center?
If this does not solve the issue, could you send the the AE project file to [email protected]?
The project file should contain two copies of the composition:
one comp before applying Orient World and one comp after applying it.
Please name the layer "ground plane" or so, such that I know which layer should be the ground plane.
Best,
Mathias
I don't own a copy of the foundry's tracker, hence, I cannot check what the issue might be. but if you can send my a project file, where the track is already done and the layers are already created, I can never the less check what goes wrong.
Best,
Mathias
If I happen to get a copy of Foundry's tracker, I could update Orient World to cope with these differences automatically, but until then the workaround to delete the Null should work.
Best,
Mathias

How I can install your Mamo Orient World into Ae Cs3!
I have some Problems when i will start the Script:
-> Unable to execute script at line 1. Unknow UI element type `tappedpanel`
Is there a way to fix that?
oh, I was not aware that CS3 does not support tapped panels. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about it. I just updated the compatibility list for Orient World.
Cheers,
Mathias
You can always see the details of the version changes in the "version history" tab of the product page.

Mathias
funktioniert das Script auch mit dem tracker von "The Foundry" ?
Ich arbeite noch mit der CS5 und da ist noch keine 3D Tracker enthalten.... wie du weisst

Same Question in english:
Dose your scrips work with the tracker from "The Foundry", i still use CS5 and there was no build in 3D-Tracker.
Hi Stefan,
Cheers / viele Grüße,yes, it also works with The Foundry's tracker.
Just keep in mind this hint from the product description:
Hint for use with The Foundry's Camera Tracker
In contrast to the camera tracker build into CS6, The Foundry's Camera
Tracker creates a null object that all other layers are parented to. In
order to make Orient World work with The Foundry's Camera Tracker, you
need to delete this parent null before applying Orient World.

Here my short experimental project using AE 3D Camera Tracker + Orient-to-World .. Cheers!

thank you for the feedback. I've put it on my list of feature requests. Currently other tools have a higher priority, so don't expect any updates soon, but when I start working on the next version, I will include it.
Cheers,
Mathias
anyone has success with AE CC 2015 with this script ??
I just checked again and on my testing machines it runs without any issues on CC 2015. In which step does your crash happen? Do you get any error message?
Does your system also crash in other situations when you move layers and cameras around in space (this is what Orient World mostly does)?
Cheers,
Mathias
If you want to create a more accurate ground plane, I recommend to select more (probably much more) than just three points to create your plane. Because then errors of individual points will have much less impact. If this place you create is then skewed in your coordinate system, you can turn it into a properly aligned ground plane (but again, it won't change the accuracy of the track).
