    Hi , I have a problem when I try tuo run this script. After copy the Reposition A. P. script to UI panels scripts folder,I run AE CS5.5 and go to : Window - Reposition Anchor point....but after effects write :

    Script Error
    An error occured when trying to open and read a resource file.

    After open empty panel without any options of reposition anchor point :(

    I'm finding that it does not work well for text anymore.

    On both 2D and 3D layers for text, the anchor point always repositions to outside of that text box and a few pixels down.

    Any way of resolving this?

    Text is not supported. This is an After Effects limitation. You can file a feature request with Adobe to fix this:  htto://adobe.com/go/wish

    Comme les états d'erreur, vous devez avoir le dossier (RepositionAnchorPoint_Resources) correctement installé. Il doit être installé au même endroit que le fichier de script. S'il vous plaît voir image ci-jointe.

    As the error states, you must have the (RepositionAnchorPoint_Resources) folder correctly installed. It should be installed in the same place as the script file. Please see attached image.

    That option is still there, if you are having a specific issue please open a support ticket for direct help.

    Hello, sorry to bother,

    You have a note on the description page that reads "Note: The download includes two archives. Version 2.5 is compatible with CS3 and version 3.1 which is compatible with CS4 and above." but, and it could be an error on my part, I only see the newest version in the download? I'm working with CS3 and I keep getting an error when trying to use the script. I figured it was because of compatibility. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

    Sorry that is outdated information (i just updated the post).  We no longer offer that old version but if you open a support ticket we might be able to help you out.

    We have not tested with CC2014 yet. Please open a support ticket with a screencast showing the problem so we can look into it. You can use this free tool to record the screencast: http://www.screencast-o-matic.com/

    And you can always check the tested compatibility of all our products by checking the COMPATIBILITY tab on every product page.

    When attaching one layer to another is there a way for it to recognize a mask on that layer? If I attach a text layer to a solid with a mask, the text attaches to the edge of the solid not the edge of the masked portion of the solid.

    Would be nice to position an anchor point based on the comp. Seems random I guess, but what I'm trying to do is select multiple layers and put their anchor point at the center of the comp (for 2d to 3d stuff where I need to be able to slide the layer back on the z axis relative to the camera).

    Nice little UI though! I think the "Anchor:" text creates a bit of blank space and could be removed IMHO. And while I'm at it I suggest putting the help button on one line with the "Reposition" button just to save on UI space again ;)

    Getting an error on launch. Won't work!! I loved this script. When I launch it says "Unable to execute script at line 118. Unable to create temporary image file.

    The preposition anchor point panel displays nothing. I'm using CS6.

    I know others are getting this same problem. Anyone know how to fix this?

    I asked the same thing, but they said it had something to do with a firewall. If you look at line 118, it doesn't seem to be any different from the following lines for the graphics. Oddly, if you keep opening and closing it, it eventually works. Maybe it's a CS6 thing, but I agree, it's a great script and it would be nice if it worked properly

    Any chance you could loose the "Reposition button" and just make it so that the re-positioning happens when you click the individual location buttons? seems like an unnecessary extra click.

    Has this been updated, or has AE changed it's limitation, so that this now works with text?  While running tests I see that the anchor point moves both visually, and by the numeric values, but when I then parent something to the text layer it always defaults to the original anchor point.

    Hi there, in the short youtube video I see a button to choose the border (mask or layer). This button doesn´t exit in the current version I just downloaded. But that is exactly what I need: To center the anchorpoint related to the layer size but ignoring the masks. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

    It means after effects cannot access the file system if you cannot do this than the script can I run

    Use the aescripts + aeplugins manager app (https://aescripts.com/learn/aescripts-aeplugins-manager-app/) to install it.

    Right-click and select 'Custom Installation' and make sure you are installing into the same version of After Effects that you are using. Please restart after installing.

    You will then find it under the Window menu in After Effects
