A real graph - Domain Warp Example, exactly as it sits in the den. Drawn in CSS here; in the den it renders live on the GPU.

What Deep unlocks

A whole studio behind one key

Deep includes everything in Pro - and opens the Den, the web studio where gpuppies are born.

Deep · The Den

Nodes that feel right

The node editor is the heart of Deep - built to be a joy to wire. Drop a wire on empty canvas and the menu leads with the nodes that actually fit it. Drop a node onto a wire and it splices in. Collapse a node to a one-line digest, watch a scope live inside it, A/B two branches with a single key.

It all lives in the Den - a full studio in your browser with a real-time WebGPU preview on bundled footage or your own clips, a code editor and a parameter inspector.

Deep · Live in AE

Save once. It's in After Effects.

The Den is linked to the GPUDog panel on your machine. Build on the left, watch it in your comp on the right - hit Save and After Effects re-renders with the new look. The link is a direct local connection, so it keeps working offline.

Deep · Node catalog

Every node, explained in place

The catalog is a school disguised as a menu: every node is documented right where you pick it - what it does, what to feed it - with Tips & Tricks recipes that open as small working graphs. Start a gpuppy from a recipe and take it apart.

Deep · The pack

Built by the pack

The pack is a members' club of people who take the craft seriously. Everything inside is free for members to use in real work, commercial included. Inspect any graph right in the pack - no fetch needed, then Fetch it into the Den and remix it. Publish your own and it joins forever, with your @handle and a lineage every remix carries forward.

Deep · Agents

An AI that hunts shaders with you

Connect your AI agent to the Den over MCP - one-click setup from the home screen - and watch it build a gpuppy with you, live in your tab. It renders, compiles and checks its own work, which makes it a great co-builder when you're starting out. You stay the director.

And there is more

The rest of the bone pile

Team

Collab license

Send the project, not your key. Teammates and render machines that open your project render your custom gpuppies clean, no license needed - for 30 days after you last saved with them, renewed on every save.

Effects

New Deep effects

Fresh gpuppies ship to Deep first - including node-built ones you can open up and learn from. Install once, every future Deep drop lands in the same plugin.

Code

Nodes to code, code to nodes

A node gpuppy converts to WGSL with one click - keep refining it in the code editor. Import GLSL / Shadertoy / ISF, wrap it in parameters, ship it as your own effect.

Controls

Parameters, one level deeper

Design the controls, not just the look. Wire conditions like hidden_when / disabled_when with live diagnostics, set sampling, ranges and defaults - every control lands as a real, keyframeable AE Effect Control.

Cloud

FAQ

Before you step in

Does Deep include Pro?

Yes. Deep is a superset - every Pro gpuppy, the code editor, GLSL import, everything. One license, the whole pack.

Is Deep a subscription?

No. Deep is a one-time purchase. Signing in for cloud sync is free and optional - the license itself is perpetual and never expires.

Do I need to be online?

Rendering in After Effects is fully local. The Den studio runs in your browser; gpuppies you build there are stored on your machine and keep rendering with AE offline. Only cloud sync and the pack need a connection.

What exactly is the collab license?

When you save a project that uses your custom gpuppies, anyone who opens that project - a teammate, a client, a render node - renders them watermark-free without owning a license, for 30 days after your last save. Saving again extends the window.

How does the Den talk to After Effects?

The Den↔AE link is a direct local WebSocket to the GPUDog panel on your machine - it doesn't hop through a server, and it works offline. Save in the Den, the panel picks it up, AE re-renders. (Syncing your gpuppies to the cloud is a separate, optional layer.)

How do I connect an AI agent - and do I need to install anything?

Nothing extra. The MCP server is hosted (mcp.gpudog.dev) - open the Den's home screen, hit the agent setup, and copy the ready-made config into your agent. Any MCP-capable agent works - Claude Code, Cursor, even Claude or ChatGPT on the web; the setup screen hands the AI a prompt and it walks you through connecting. The agent then builds in your live tab - you watch the nodes appear.

Does it work with Claude or ChatGPT on the web?

Yes - and even away from your main computer. The Den is a web app: open your tab in any browser, connect the agent, and it builds right there; the result syncs to your library. On claude.ai add the MCP server as a custom connector; in ChatGPT enable developer mode in settings, then add the server manually. AE isn't required for any of this.

Is my work private?

Private by default. Custom gpuppies live on your machine (plus your own cloud space if you sign in). The preview renders locally in your browser and the AE link is a local connection - your footage never leaves your computer. Nothing enters the pack until you explicitly hit Publish.

Who sees what I publish - and can they use it?

Published gpuppies live in the pack under your @handle, and fellow Deep members may use them in their own work - commercial included; that's the club deal. What you control is the source: whether others can fetch it, remix it, or inspect the code and nodes. Every remix carries its lineage, so credit always points back to you.

I'm on Pro - what happens with node-built gpuppies?

They render like any other effect - and on Pro nothing is ever watermarked. You can open their generated WGSL in the panel's code editor and keep editing as code; the node graph itself opens in the Den, which is Deep territory.

I have a Pro subscription. Do I get the discounted upgrade?

The discounted upgrade applies to perpetual (one-time) Pro licenses. If you subscribed monthly, Deep is the regular $199 price - and it replaces the subscription for good.

Version History

1.4.2 -

Aug 10, 2026

- Added a new Tonemap node with ACES, Reinhard, and Filmic curves, plus Exposure and White Point controls, to manage highlights.
- Updated Cycle with an Invert port to reverse wrapped results.
- Updated Trail Sampler with new Cast Offset and Cast Size controls for more precise trail casting, replacing the retired Cast Gamma.
- Updated Trail Sampler: the Solidity control is now called Fade and counts forward, with a migration option for existing graphs.
- Updated Viewport with a Pixel Size (Aspect) mode for easier pixel-accurate sizing of shapes.
- Fixed Rotate, Scale, and 2D Transform nodes to pivot around the center of the frame by default.
- Fixed license key parsing to automatically clean invisible characters and provide clearer messages for malformed keys.
- Fixed Trail Sampler's Cast Inward Matte output to correctly represent the inner shadow, allowing for better compositing.
- Fixed unwired Pre-mult nodes to output black instead of a UV ramp.
- Removed the Spread Pivot control from the Trail Sampler node.

1.4.1 -

Jul 29, 2026

- Added Flow Field, a node that reads noise as a vector field: its Curl mode makes footage swirl instead of bulge, with Gradient and Vector modes alongside.
- Added Cos Palette, a shapeable colour ramp with Bias, Amplitude and Phase controls.
- Added multi-channel output to Loop End, so one pass can fold several values at once — a weighted blur no longer needs to sample twice.
- Added a Spiral placement to Tap Offset with an adjustable Divergence angle, plus a Rotate control that spins any index-placed pattern.
- Added a Perpendicular operation to the Vector node.
- Added a new Tips & Tricks recipe, Prism Current — a rainbow wake that curls.
- Trail Sampler gained Accumulate modes — Max, Over, Average/Sum, Screen and Min/Multiply — so a march can fold its hits like a loop.
- Trail Sampler's Spread is now true prism dispersion: channels fan along the march, reach into the matte and end in a soft coloured falloff, with a new Spread Pivot to recolour the fringe.
- Added an Edges control to Trail Sampler, so the march can skip, inherit, mirror or repeat at the layer border.
- Added a Cast Gamma slider to Trail Sampler, and picture casts are now weighted by the pixel's own alpha.
- Restored Trail Sampler's Channel Max mode for the pixel-sorter streak.
- GLSL import now works in the Den's web editor — paste or drop a .glsl or .frag file and it converts to WGSL, using the same converter the panel runs.
- The Inspector now jumps to a node's generated WGSL and highlights it in the Compiled view.
- Tips & Tricks cards can now build their example directly in the Den.
- Clicking the gpuppy's name in the panel's status chip opens it in the Den.
- Fractal Noise now looks like noise: an integer hash instead of a sine, rotated octaves, sub-pixel octaves dropped, and Perlin as the default basis.
- Evolve now animates at a constant rate instead of stalling at every cell boundary, and a new Endless mode runs without ever repeating.
- Library filters are now All, Official and Mine with context-aware sub-filters, plus Favorites, Node-based and Code-based chips.
- The panel now says it is asleep instead of reporting a missing effect, and offers to wake it.
- Dialogs size to their content, and the remaining pickers no longer fall back to OS-native dropdowns.
- Angle sliders scrub at a constant rate with magnetic detents at 0, 45, 90 and 135 degrees.
- Reroute beads gained a larger grab handle and now move with a multi-selection.
- Group frames no longer bead their edges — wires pass straight through them.
- Popup choice lists now use the After Effects pipe separator.
- Word wrap moved into Settings and toggles with Alt+Z, several internal-only switches were removed, and two defaults were calmed.
- Everything published to the pack is now free to use in commercial work, and per-gpuppy licence toggles are gone.
- A remix can no longer expose more of the original than its author chose.
- Fixed applying a GPUppy with numeric parameters hanging on the spinner and never landing.
- Fixed saving in the Den adding a second GPUDog effect to the layer instead of updating the one already there.
- Fixed the Den's LIVE link to a layer doing nothing, and fixed LIVE arming itself without being asked.
- Fixed the panel going blank after copying a gpuppy ID or opening the Den from the status chip.
- Fixed stalled footage loads freezing the preview, and Match input footage now works on stills and on every clip.
- Fixed nodes that could break the shader on their own default values.
- Fixed the missing "Add Loop End" button on the compile banner.

1.4.0 -

Jul 28, 2026

- Introduced GPUDog Deep, a new top tier with end-to-end web activation - a Deep key now activates over a live Pro license without restarting After Effects.
- Added the Den (den.gpudog.dev), a browser-based studio for building and editing GPUppies in real time, synced to the GPUppies on your machine.
- Added a visual node editor that builds effects as a node graph, with no shader code required.
- Added cloud sync, with one shared library across the Den and the After Effects panel.
- Added 10-bit footage support.
- Added the ability to sample other layers and your own images or footage inside an effect.
- Added a Parameters tab to the panel, with a per-parameter show/hide eye.
- Added a large set of new nodes and effects - noise, domain and turbulence warps, trail and spectral samplers, gradients, spectrum and colormap, white balance, symmetry, normals, and text and typography.
- Added nestable For-Each loops for building richer effects.
- Added Custom WGSL nodes for authoring effects directly in code.
- Improved the free tier so the Parameters area is now an editable sandbox instead of a closed door.
- Improved preview and scrubbing performance across the panel.
