Description
Keyless Zoom ✦✦ Procedural Camera System for After Effects
Direct the shot. Forget the keyframes.
Ditch the keys, keep the flow.
Keyless Zoom is a procedural camera engine for After Effects. Instead of sculpting dozens of keyframes, you build clean, modular camera moves that live together inside one unified system.
You choose where a move begins, where it should land, and how long it should take. Keyless Zoom handles the easing, precision math, and technical housekeeping — keeping your workflow focused, smooth, and creative.
What it feels like
  • A workflow that keeps you in creative flow, not technical struggle.
  • Zooms that land exactly where you intend.
  • A timeline that stays clean, even deep into a project.

Feature ✦✦ Zoom to Fit — Intelligent Framing Engine
Pixel-perfect framing. Instantly.
FRAMING THAT REMOVES FRUSTRATION, NOT CONTROL.
Keyless Zoom’s Intelligent Zoom to Fit places the camera exactly where it needs to be to frame a 3D layer cleanly and reliably. It understands how your layer is positioned in 3D space — whether it’s rotated, oriented, scaled, or parented through multiple linked nulls — and calculates the correct ending point automatically. No nudging. No manual end position. No guesswork.

It simply arrives at the correct framing, no matter how complex the setup is.
WHY IT MATTERS
When a layer is heavily rotated, scaled down, pushed off to one side, or sitting at an awkward angle, manually framing it becomes slow and frustrating. You move the camera position, correct the angle, adjust the distance — it easily eats 10–15 minutes. And once the camera is finally positioned, shaping a high-quality easing curve easily adds another 10–15 minutes.

The integrated Overscan slider gives you precise finishing power. At Overscan 1.0, the layer fits exactly to its bounding box. Lowering the Overscan moves the camera closer, especially for circles or rounded shapes that naturally leave empty space at the sides — letting you fill the composition more cleanly. The framing updates live as you move the slider, so you can stop exactly where it feels right.

Zoom to Fit turns 20–30 minutes of work into a single minute.
CONTEXT-AWARE CAMERA ROLL
Keyless Zoom automatically understands whether your layer was rotated for graphic alignment or cinematic intention — and adapts the camera roll accordingly.

Scenario 1 — The Graphic Shot (Auto-Align)
Your Action: You rotate the layer using Rotation.
The System: Recognizes a motion-graphics setup and aligns the camera roll to match the layer’s angle.
Result: A clean, locked-on graphic framing.

Scenario 2 — The Cinematic Shot (Preserve Angle)
Your Action: You tilt the layer using Orientation.
The System: Detects this as a deliberate cinematic angle and preserves your artistic roll.
Result: The camera frames the layer perfectly without overriding your composition.

Your Simple Rulebook
• If you want your rotated layer to stay clean and aligned, use Rotation.
• If you want to preserve the artistic angle of your layer, use Orientation.
What it feels like
  • The camera lands where you expect — reliably, every time.
  • Overscan gives you polished, creative-level control.
  • You stay in a director’s mindset instead of wrestling technical details.
Feature ✦✦ Easing — Custom Hand-Tuned Easing
The feel of motion. Perfected.
CONTROL THE FEEL, NOT THE BEZIERS.
Keyless Zoom’s easing system is built from the ground up — not from presets, not from generic Easy Ease, but from hand-tuned motion curves shaped specifically for camera work. The engine blends non-linear timing, natural asymmetry, and distance-aware behavior to create movement that feels intentional, expressive, and consistently premium. Each easing style has its own character, but all share the same unified motion DNA.
Smooth — natural, soft, controlled motion
The Smooth curve is built for clean, classic animation. It accelerates gently, eases into motion naturally, and settles with a soft landing. There are no harsh inflections—just a continuous, fluid shape that fits explainer videos, professional layouts, and any moment where the move must feel intentional but never distracting.
Snappy — fast, energetic forward punch
Snappy launches forward with strong initial momentum, then tightens into a decisive stop. Perfect for social edits, dynamic UI animations, and fast-paced sequences. The underlying profile gives it a satisfying “hit”—quick, responsive, and modern—without feeling jittery or cheap.
Cinematic — sweeping, expressive, and high-end
Cinematic creates a wide, elegantly drawn movement with long arcs and controlled deceleration. It feels expensive. Think dramatic reveals, title sequences, brand films. The curve gives a sense of inertia and weight, almost like a real camera rig being guided by a skilled operator.
BounceBack — expressive overshoot with adjustable control
BounceBack adds a refined, modern overshoot to the end of the animation—subtle, clean, and never elastic or cartoonish. A tasteful, modern rebound that adds personality to your motion.
And yes — a dedicated Overshoot slider lets you control exactly how strong the bounce is, from a subtle flick to a bold, expressive pop.
Easing Controls — Precision without the graph editor
Every move you create is connected to a hold keyframe on the Easing Controls layer. That keyframe holds a single value: Easing Strength.

You don’t redraw curves. You don’t tweak keyframes. The system handles everything for you. You just change one number, and the entire segment’s feel updates instantly.

Smooth can be softer or more pronounced. Snappy can be tighter or more aggressive. Cinematic can be more stretched or more controlled. BounceBack can settle subtly or land with attitude.

Your motion stays handcrafted — but now it’s also adjustable.
What It Feels Like
  • Each move carries a clear, intentional emotional tone.
  • You choose the vibe, not the curves.
  • You can refine the feel long after the move is built.

Feature ✦✦ Zoom In & Out — Shot Builder
Design the zoom shot. Effortlessly.
DESIGN THE SHOT, NOT THE PROCESS.
Zoom-in and zoom-out shots are the bread and butter of motion design — but building a good one in After Effects is rarely as simple as it should be. You find a start frame, set a keyframe, move the playhead, park the camera for the end, tweak the easing, nudge the timing, and repeat until it finally feels right.
WHAT IT DOES
Keyless Zoom turns that process into a focused shot builder. You decide when the move starts and when it ends, then tell the system where the camera should be at each point. As you refine the starting position or rotation, the camera jumps there so you can judge the opening frame. When you adjust the ending position or rotation, it does the same — giving you a clear, live preview of where the zoom will land, without chasing the playhead up and down the timeline.

Once both sides feel right, you execute the shot. Keyless Zoom builds the zoom between them with clean spacing, solid timing, and motion shaped by our hand-tuned curves crafted exclusively for Keyless Zoom — so your zooms feel unified with every other move in the camera rig.

You’re not building a zoom by hand.
You’re dialing in a shot.
WHAT IT DELIVERS
• No scrubbing the playhead or juggling multiple keyframes.
• Clean, consistent zoom shots whether you’re pushing in or pulling back.
• Perfect spacing and motion driven by Keyless Zoom’s handcrafted easing engine.
What it feels like
  • Zooms that land exactly where your eye expects them to.
  • Clear start and end previews that remove every guess.
  • A workflow that keeps you directing — not fixing.
Feature ✦✦ Bake — Smart Expression Baking
Your motion. Baked clean.
PRESERVE THE SHOT, NOT THE CODE.
Keyless Zoom’s procedural engine is built for designing and refining your camera moves. But once a shot is approved, you may want a version that behaves like any normal, hand-animated camera — expression-free, portable, and ready for final tweaks. Bake gives you that final, production-ready snapshot of your motion, without changing the move you already designed.

HOW IT BAKES
Bake converts your live, expression-driven animation into standard After Effects keyframes — but only where animation actually exists. If a move happens from frame 0 to frame 20, then again from frame 30 to frame 40, Keyless Zoom bakes only those segments, writing a keyframe for every single frame inside those ranges while ignoring everything else on the timeline.

You don’t get 0–40 clutter. You get 0–20 keys, a clean gap, then 30–40 keys. Nothing extra. Nothing noisy. Just the exact motion you created, preserved perfectly and freed from the expression — ready for hand-off, export, or subtle finishing adjustments. After baking, the easing-control null that drives the procedural curves is also removed, leaving your timeline clean, lightweight, and easy to work with.
WHAT IT DELIVERS
• Segment-perfect baking with no unnecessary keyframes.
• A fully keyframed camera with no procedural dependencies.
• Identical motion preserved frame-for-frame, clean and editable.
• The easing-control null is automatically removed for a cleaner timeline.
What it feels like
  • The shot stays exactly as you built it — nothing shifts or drifts.
  • Your camera becomes light, clean, and easy to adjust.
  • No clutter, no noise — only the frames that matter.
  • A final step that feels invisible, but makes your workflow smoother.
Interaction ✦✦ Live Interactive Control
Instant feedback. Every single tweak.
POSITION AND ROTATION
Whenever you adjust the Start position or rotation,, the camera immediately moves there and shows you a live preview of the opening frame. Change the End position or rotation, and the camera does the same — giving you an instant preview of where the shot will land.

You never need to scrub the playhead or jump back and forth on the timeline. Just drag the values, and the camera updates in real time, letting you see both ends of the move before you commit to it.

Each tweak flows instantly into the viewport, making refinement feel effortless and intuitive.
OVERSCAN
When you choose Zoom to Fit, the Overscan slider appears and gives you real-time control over how tight or loose the framing should be.

As you move the slider, the camera updates instantly — showing you exactly how the layer will fit inside the comp at each value of Overscan.

Slide lower, and the camera moves in for a tighter crop.
Slide higher, and it pulls back to give your layer more breathing room.

You’re not guessing, you’re seeing the adjustment live — so you can stop the moment the framing feels right.
What it feels like
  • The UI feels alive — always reacting to your input.
  • Both ends of the move are visible before you commit.
  • Framing adjustments feel instant and intuitive.
Workflow ✦✦ Smart Status Bar & Locking System
The workflow leads you. The status bar confirms you.
LOCKING SYSTEM

Keyless Zoom unlocks controls only when they’re ready to be used, keeping the workflow clean and impossible to misuse.

It waits for a valid camera, then unlocks zoom options. Choose a zoom type and the Start/End inputs appear — except in Zoom to Fit, where End Position and rotation stays disabled because the script calculates it automatically. Set your timing, easing opens, and finally Execute unlocks once everything is fully defined.

By revealing controls stage-by-stage, Keyless Zoom keeps the workflow guided and error-proof. You always know what comes next, and never land in a half-configured or broken state.

SMART STATUS BAR

Keyless Zoom’s Smart Status Bar keeps you oriented with instant reactions — confirming what’s ready and highlighting what’s missing.

If the camera isn’t detected, it tells you. If a zoom type needs a target, it reminds you. If a value is invalid, it explains what to fix.

Once everything is set, the bar confirms the shot is ready to execute. After you execute, it reports success with the same clarity.

It becomes a quiet assistant: guiding when needed, warning when something’s off, and confirming when everything is in place.

What it feels like
  • No confusion — every control appears exactly when it should.
  • The UI feels safe, predictable, and impossible to break.
  • Status messages that keep you oriented at every step.

CHOOSE YOUR ZOOM TYPE
Select the type of animation you want, like Zoom In, Zoom Out, or Zoom to Fit.

Pro Tip: For Zoom to Fit, the script needs a target. Select the 3D layer you wish to frame perfectly on screen before clicking Execute.
DEFINE THE START POSITION & ROTATION
The script automatically fills the Start Position and Rotation  with your camera’s current position as a convenience. Feel free to edit these values if you want your zoom to begin from a different spot.

“As you type, the camera updates live in the viewport for instant visual feedback.”
DEFINE THE END POSITION & ROTATION
Type your desired X, Y, and Z position and rotation values into the End panel.

Note: For Zoom to Fit, you don’t need to enter anything here. The script calculates the perfect End values for you!

“These values also preview live, so you can fine-tune interactively before committing.”
SET THE TIMING
Enter the animation’s Start Time and End Time in frames.
SELECT AN EASING STYLE
Choose one of the four presets to define the feel of your camera’s motion.
EXECUTE
Press the 🚀 Execute button.

● For Zoom to Fit: An Overscan dialog will appear for final framing control.

● Set Overscan to 1.0, and it fits perfectly to the bounding box.

● But if the layer has gaps—suppose it’s a circle that leaves empty sides—you can lower the Overscan. That pushes the zoom closer, covering more area and removing those gaps.

● Adjust the slider for a live preview, then click OK.
(OPTIONAL) BAKE TO KEYFRAMES
Once you are happy with your animation, press the 🌟 Bake button. This converts the animation into standard, editable keyframes.

That’s it! You’ve created a professional camera animation.
