Learn how to create a realistic animated 3D book directly inside After Effects, combining native 3D page mechanics with physics-driven typography using Newton.

Author Notes

In this tutorial, we show you how to create a realistic animated 3D book directly inside After Effects. We combine native 3D page mechanics with physics-driven typography.

First, we build the book mechanics using 3D layers, expressions, and the Curvature geometry option to fold the pages. Then, we use Newton to simulate zero-gravity explosions and falling letters directly on the pages. Finally, we integrate animated foliage shadows, depth of field, and show you how to use a free script to automate the entire 3D book creation process.

You can find the full step-by-step text tutorial with project files and the free script on the Motion Boutique website: https://www.motionboutique.com/learn/create-animated-book-after-effects
