Hear the reference. Hear the result.
These Japanese samples use the creator’s own voice and the default Qwen3-TTS engine. The new lines are generated from text, using the reference recording and its exact transcript.

Try the wording while you edit.
Build a rough voice track for a tutorial, check how a line fits a cut, or revise a sentence before your next recording session.
1. Set your voice
Choose a clean reference WAV and enter exactly what is spoken in that clip. Keep the reference and narration in the same language.
2. Write the line
Enter a short sentence. Choose an audio track and insert at the playhead, at a time in seconds, or at the end of the sequence.
3. Listen in context
Generate the WAV and insert it from the panel. Play the clip with your edit, then revise the text or generate another take as needed.

What you get
- A Premiere UXP panel with English and Japanese interface options.
- The local Qwen3-TTS engine with macOS and Windows setup.
- Reference voice and transcript controls.
- WAV generation and insertion on your chosen audio track.
- A default output folder beside your project, or a folder you choose.
This UXP release generates one clip at a time. Batch generation and multi-take variation are not included.
System requirements
Host and platform: Premiere Pro 25.6 or later on macOS and Windows; tested in Premiere Pro 2026. One ZIP includes the shared UXP .ccx and an Install/Quickstart PDF. First-run local engine setup is in-panel on both platforms (Set up local engine). Optional Irodori-TTS setup is also in-panel.
Storage and setup: allow several GB for the local speech engine, Python packages and downloaded models.
Connection: internet is required for installation, model downloads and aescripts license activation/validation. Speech synthesis runs on your computer, with no cloud TTS per-generation charges.
License: generation requires an active aescripts license, or an active trial if one is available.
Project: save your project and open a sequence before generating.
Your first narration.
- Install the plugin and engine. Extract the downloaded package and read the included Install/Quickstart PDF. Use the aescripts + aeplugins manager to install and license the plugin, or use the ZXP/UXP Installer. Open the panel in Premiere. If Server is Off, click Set up local engine and allow Premiere if prompted. Wait until Server: On. Requires Python 3.10–3.12 and FFmpeg on PATH, internet, and several GB free. The engine is registered to start at login.
- Open Local Narrator TTS. Fully quit and reopen Premiere. Go to Window > Plugins > Local Narrator TTS and activate your license. Save a project, then open the sequence you want to use.
- Pair a recording with its exact words. In Advanced Settings, choose a clean reference WAV. Six seconds or longer is recommended. Use your own voice, or a voice you have permission to use. In Reference transcript, enter every word spoken in that selected clip. If you trimmed the recording, transcribe only the trimmed clip. Do not enter a summary or the text you want to generate.
- Match the spoken language. Set Language to speak to match your reference and narration. For English narration, use an English reference WAV and its exact English transcript. The separate interface-language setting only changes panel labels.
- Generate a short line. Return to Generate, enter your narration text, choose the target audio track and insertion position, then click Generate & Insert to Timeline. First use loads the model and can take longer. Wait for completion, then play the inserted clip in Premiere.
English narration is supported with an English reference. Changing only the language menu will not turn a Japanese reference into a suitable English voice. Japanese/English mismatches are blocked. The reference-language hint uses your transcript; it does not verify the language or words in the WAV for you.
Practical questions.
Where are my generated WAVs saved?
By default, they are saved in LocalNarratorTTS_Audio beside your saved Premiere project. Use the output-folder setting in Advanced Settings to choose another location.
What if the voice repeats words or misreads the line?
First listen to the reference WAV and check its transcript word for word, including the beginning and end. Then check the spoken language, try a shorter sentence and regenerate. A cleaner reference can also help. Abnormally long Qwen output is rejected before saving, but these checks do not catch every poor take. Listen to each clip before using it in a finished production.
The panel says “Server: Off”. What should I do?
Click Set up local engine (first run) or Start engine, allow Premiere if prompted, and wait until Server: On. Fully quit and reopen Premiere if needed. The Server WS URL should be ws://localhost:5126. If connection still fails, include the panel error and the engine logs when requesting support; on macOS logs are under ~/Library/Application Support/LocalNarratorTTS/logs/, on Windows under %LOCALAPPDATA%\LocalNarratorTTS\logs\.
How long does generation take?
It depends on your computer, text, reference and engine. Setup downloads and the first model load take extra time. Begin with a short line to check sound and timing before generating a longer script.
Which languages can I use?
The Qwen language menu offers Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean, French, Spanish and German. Use a matching-language recording and transcript, and check pronunciation with your own material. This page includes Japanese and English generated samples. English and Japanese interface options are separate from the spoken-language setting.
Does the audio generation run locally?
Yes. The local engine processes the reference and generates the WAV on your computer. Setup, model downloads and aescripts licensing still require an internet connection.
How do I update or uninstall?
Install the new CCX with the manager or ZXP/UXP Installer, then reopen Premiere. If an old panel keeps loading, remove it in Creative Cloud Desktop’s Manage plugins, install the new CCX, and restart Premiere. Open the panel and use Set up local engine again if the engine needs updating. Check your reference and transcript settings afterward.
To uninstall, remove the plugin through Manage plugins. Stop the resident server from the panel if it is still running, and remove the login item / Startup shortcut if present. The engine and downloaded models remain under ~/Library/Application Support/LocalNarratorTTS (macOS) or %LOCALAPPDATA%\LocalNarratorTTS (Windows) unless you remove that folder.
