We released Composite Brush for the Unreal Engine under the advice and expectation that the Plug-in would be used primarily by enterprise customers, who were the main market out there in need of high-performance keying.

Our aim was to serve big-budget TV Networks and Film Sets. Customers that would typically hire a Technical Director to build their keying pipeline from scratch, and go in-depth customizing it for their needs. We figured we'd still easily be far cheaper than hiring a TD to build from scratch, and at that price, we could still offer an exceptional level of service and custom code for the customers who needed it. Upon release, all of the enterprise customers have been using the Plug-in out of the box and required no custom setup or services.

Meanwhile, there has been a large outcry from the consumer market for a more affordable version of Composite Brush for small studios. Composite Brush for After Effects has always followed a volume-based sales model. It's cheap to buy but we sell to many individuals and small studios to compensate and keep the lights on. In the last few weeks surrounding the launch, we've basically learned there's probably a much larger market for us to serve in individuals and small studios.

So we're cutting the price dramatically and are planning to serve the consumer market primarily.

Regrettably, this means we will not likely be able to make custom compilations and services at that price tag, however enterprise customers are welcome and encouraged to reach out to us for these requests and we can create a custom quote.

Our current plan, to satisfy the most customers, is to compile to the last few versions of Unreal and consider porting to Mac as well. Our previous customers will be refunded the difference in price. We hope this comes as good news to the many of you who have reached out about Composite Brush for the Unreal Engine but have found it cost-prohibitive.
