Pushr for Blender
Send Adobe Illustrator artwork to Blender in one click, as shapes, strokes, editable text, and materials ready to animate.
Stop fixing Illustrator imports. Push only what you need. Keep working in Blender.
Importing an SVG gets your artwork into Blender, but it also creates work. Text disappears. Artwork arrives tiny. Every origin lands on the same corner. Strokes are lost. Layers flatten. Gradients turn grey.
Pushr sends your selected Illustrator artwork straight into your open Blender scene as editable shapes, strokes, and text. Set the size and orientation before you push, preserve the structure you need, and keep working in Blender without rebuilding the design first.
SVG import is only the start of the job.
The usual Illustrator to Blender workflow looks like this:
- Export an SVG.
- Import it into Blender.
- Rebuild the missing text.
- Fix the scale.
- Reposition every origin.
- Rebuild strokes.
- Reorganize flattened layers.
- Recreate colors, materials, and gradients.
- Do it again when the design changes.
Pushr replaces that export, import, and cleanup loop with a direct push from Illustrator to Blender.
Select the artwork you want. Push it. Keep building.
Select. Push. Animate.
No SVG export. No import dialog. No rebuilding the design before you can start working with it.
Push only what you need.
Pushr works from your Illustrator selection, so you decide exactly what enters Blender.
- One shape
- A logo lockup
- A few UI icons
- A complete styleframe
Keep Illustrator open, keep designing, and push new elements as your Blender scene grows.
Text stays text.
SVG import drops Illustrator text. Pushr creates real Blender text objects instead, using the matching font, size, and line spacing.
Change the copy. Switch the font. Keep animating.
Editable curves, with origins where you expect them.
Filled Illustrator shapes arrive as Blender curve objects with extrusion, so you can keep changing their depth and rounded edges after the push.
Each object also arrives with its origin centered instead of sharing the same corner with every other imported object.
Stage it, rotate it, animate it.
Strokes stay editable.
Illustrator strokes arrive as their own Blender curve objects, parented to their fills instead of disappearing during import.
Use Stroke Controls in the Pushr sidebar to adjust width and corner rounding for the current selection or the whole push.
Illustrator layers become Blender collections.
Enable Retain Original Layers and Pushr rebuilds your Illustrator layer hierarchy as Blender collections.
Names, order, colors, and sublayers come across, and each pushed object lands in the correct collection.
Bring the look across with the artwork.
Pushr can automatically create and assign Principled materials from your Illustrator colors.
Linear and radial gradients become node-based materials for Eevee and Cycles instead of arriving as grey fills.
Objects using the same Illustrator color share a material, avoiding unnecessary duplicates.
Prefer to handle materials later? Turn material creation off and Pushr still keeps the Illustrator colors as object colors. Create Materials in the sidebar can build the materials whenever you need them.
Set the size before it reaches Blender.
Enter the Height and Depth you need in Blender scene units.
Push separate elements and keep the design aligned.
By default, Pushr sizes the artwork from your current selection, giving you independent control over every object or group you push.
When you are building a design through several separate pushes, switch the Height Reference to Artboard.
Each element then keeps its scale and position relative to the full Illustrator artboard, so separate pushes line up when they reach Blender.
Choose how your artwork enters the scene.
Front, top, or side.
Choose the target plane before you push. Your artwork arrives already oriented to the selected plane, so you can start placing and animating it without rotating the entire result first.
Decide how Illustrator groups arrive.
Decide how Illustrator groups arrive in Blender.
- Ungroup: Every element arrives individually.
- Keep: Each Illustrator group becomes an empty centered on its contents. Nested groups are preserved, and everything inside remains editable.
- Merge: Each group becomes a single object.
Use Keep when you want to move, rotate, or animate a group as one without giving up access to the elements inside it.
Change it in Illustrator. Push again.
Pushr is not a one-time import.
Make a change in Illustrator, select what you need, and push again.
Each push arrives in its own collection, so you can keep versions, compare ideas, or delete the older push when you no longer need it.
Keep working from the Pushr sidebar.
Press N in Blender's 3D Viewport and open the Pushr tab.
The tools work on pushed objects without touching the rest of your scene.
Adjust depth and edges
Change extrusion depth or rounded edges after the push, for your current selection or the entire push.
Scatter elements in depth
Spread pushed elements through depth using a random range, either per object or per layer.
Save pushes to the Asset Library
Pushr creates drag-and-drop assets for Blender's Asset Browser, with tags and thumbnails.
Built for design-led 3D motion.
Pushr fits workflows where the design starts in Illustrator and the motion happens in Blender.
- 3D logos and typography
- SaaS and UI-style product visuals
- Brand systems and campaign assets
- Motion design styleframes
- Explainer graphics
- Social content
- Layered vector illustrations
- Fast client iteration between 2D design and 3D animation
Spend your time on the Blender part.
Designing the look, staging the shot, lighting the scene, and making it move are the parts you should be spending time on.
Repairing an Illustrator import is not.
- Export an SVG
- Import it
- Rebuild all the text
- Fix the tiny scale
- Set origins by hand
- Rebuild strokes
- Recreate materials
- Reorganize the scene
- Repeat after every change
- Select what you need
- Click Push
- Keep building in Blender
What to know before pushing
Pushr is designed for clean Illustrator vector artwork, including shapes, strokes, text, colors, supported gradients, names, and layers.
For best results, keep Illustrator objects and layers properly named, expand complex effects when needed, and clean up the artwork before pushing.
Requirements
- Blender 4.2 or later
- Illustrator 2025 or later
- Windows or macOS
Current limitations
- Clipping masks are not supported.
- Images are not supported yet.
- Illustrator effects are not transferred as live effects.
- Freeform gradients are not supported.
- Strokes arrive with butt caps. Round and projecting caps are not supported yet.
- Linear and radial gradients arrive as node-based materials.
- Complex appearance stacks may need to be expanded first.
- Justified paragraphs arrive aligned left, center, or right, with natural word spacing.
- Blender's default view transform, AgX, tone-maps flat colors. Set Color Management to Standard for a closer match to Illustrator.
