Description

Creates a fully animated split-flap board directly from a selected text layer.

No pre-built cards, no image folders, and no manual setup — just type your text, select the layer, and generate the animation in one click.

Now rebuilt in V3.0

SolariText V3.0 is a major update built around a new fixed-rig engine. The new architecture replaces the older heavier per-flip setup with a cleaner, more scalable card rig system, making boards easier to generate, easier to rebuild, and better suited for larger projects.

New Fixed Rig Engine — a major internal rebuild for a cleaner and more scalable card structure

Airport / Wall Grid Mode — create full display walls with optional empty filler cards, inspired by airport and station boards

New Start Modes — choose how the animation begins: Simultaneous, Sequential, or Random

Random Seed + Lock Seed — keep random animation patterns repeatable when needed

Fast Preview Mode and Full 3D Mode — work faster while building, then switch to true 3D behavior for camera, light, and shadow interaction

Rebuild Timings — update timing behavior without recreating the whole board

Create Baked Render Copy — generate a more render-friendly copy while keeping your editable setup intact

V3.0 Performance Test — Smooth Timeline Scrubbing on a Large Board

A quick screen recording showing SolariText V3.0 handling a large split-flap board with many cards. The new fixed-rig engine keeps the timeline responsive, making previewing and timing adjustments much smoother than before.

Features:

• One-click creation from any selected text layer

• No manual preparation or pre-built card assets required

• Fully editable after creation

• New fixed-rig architecture in V3.0

• Full 3D mode and fast preview workflow

• Multiple animation start modes: Simultaneous, Sequential, and Random

• Airport / Wall Grid layout mode

• Random Seed and Lock Seed control

• Rebuild Timings for existing boards

• Create Baked Render Copy for final rendering

• Multi-line and multilingual text support

• Great for titles, info boards, departure boards, countdowns, and motion design

Performance & Workflow Notes (Important)

SolariText is designed to build visually rich split-flap boards directly inside After Effects. In Full 3D mode, boards can include real 3D card behavior, lighting, shadows, and camera interaction — which may become heavier on larger setups.

To make the workflow more practical, SolariText V3.0 includes two working approaches:

• Fast Preview Mode — better for setup, design, and timing work

• Full 3D Mode — better when you need real 3D card behavior for final camera-driven shots

Recommended workflow:

1. Create the board

2. Adjust styling, spacing, timing, and sequencing in Fast Preview Mode

3. Switch to Full 3D Mode when you need the final 3D card look

4. Use Rebuild Timings if needed

5. Create a Baked Render Copy for final rendering

This gives you a flexible workflow: fast while designing, and more production-friendly when rendering.

New Modes in V3.0

Airport / Wall Grid Mode

Create full rectangular flipboard walls with optional empty filler cards — ideal for airport, station, and information-board style layouts.

Start Modes

Choose how the board starts animating:

Simultaneous — all cards begin together

Sequential — cards begin one after another

Random — cards begin in a shuffled order for a more dynamic look

Random Seed Control

Use a random seed for repeatable random behavior, and lock it when you want to keep the same animation pattern.

2.0 -

May 20, 2026

Complete engine rewrite: flat Transition Group (TG) engine replaces nested Step precomps — significantly faster comp creation and lighter project files.

New features:
- Optimized final hold: after the last flip, switches to lightweight static 3D text layers (trim last TG)
- Full 3D mode toggle: Collapse Transformations on/off per card in Main comp
- Shadows, lights, and edge strips are now OFF by default for faster preview

Fixes & improvements:
- Rebuild Timings fully rewritten for TG layers
- Expressions use (time - thisLayer.inPoint) for correct local time per group
- Legacy step cache option removed from UI

1.5.1 -
