Description

LUT. LUT never changes. But STYLER DURDEN DOES!

4 826 809 COMBINATIONS*

There is no LUT pack which can offer you something similar, because LUTs are non-adjustable and fixed to single color space.

Presets have a strong effect to have space for adjustments.

Below are some basic color presets:

Example 1

Example 2

Example 3

*Mathematically speaking, we have 6 parameters with 13 presets each (including 0 - no preset). 13 in the power of 6 equal to 4.826.809 combinations + saturation and blending adjustments.

Use in any Color Space

You'll just need to change the pivot point or choose your color space from the Mid Gray presets. The result will be almost identical inside each color space, as shown in the example below with DaVinci Wide Gamut, ACEScct, Arri LogC4, RED's Log3G10 and Sony S-Log3. But keep in mind, output colors may vary a bit because of the color science of different color spaces.

Color Palette Presets

Mix - 12 presets for Simple Mix DCTL (enhanced RGB mixer). Each preset compress colors toward specific diameter of the color wheel.

Going clockwise:

  • 1, 2 - magenta highlights (HL) and green shadows (SH)
  • 3, 4 - blue HL and yellow SH
  • 5, 6 - cyan HL and red SH
  • 7, 8 - green HL and magenta SH
  • 9, 10 - yellow HL and blue SH
  • 11, 12 - red HL and cyan SH

Odd numbers are more vivid (mixed by luminance). Even numbers are more pale (mixed by saturation).

By default, Simple Mix presets linked to RGB Stone (split-tone) presets, but since Simple Mix comprises mixing by luminance or saturation, you can unlink it and use presets for each luminance or saturation levels:

  • 12 presets for Lift Mix
  • 12 presets for Gamma Mix
  • 12 presets for Gain Mix
  • 12 presets for Offset Mix

It gives you 28560 combinations only for color palette, and it's not including power adjustments for each Mix using Blend sliders. Sure, not every combination is usable, but it might be in Monochrome.

Split-Tone Presets

RGB Stone - 12 presets for Stone DCTL (sliders based curves). Each preset comprises split-tone curves.

Going clockwise, same as with color palette:

  • 1, 2 - magenta HL and green SH
  • 3, 4 - blue HL and yellow SH
  • 5, 6 - cyan HL and red SH
  • 7, 8 - green HL and magenta SH
  • 9, 10 - yellow HL and blue SH
  • 11, 12 - red HL and cyan SH

Odd numbers - curves are not split at the black point and at the white point. Even numbers - curves are split at the black point and at the white point.

Subtractive Saturation

subtractive saturation davinci resolve

Adjust two types of subtractive saturation. 'Sub. Saturation Gain' is almost the same as if we adjust Gain Primary Wheel on the node in HSV color space - saturates more saturated colors in a subtractive way. 'Sub. Saturation Gamma' is the same, but for average saturated colors. I described the subtractive saturation behaviour in the video below.
