    So I imagine that we can customize the shape layers to make other things like the tank treads? No mention of that, so I'd like to know if that's possible before purchasing.

    you can customize the shape layer in the controller, like making the axel hole bigger (in the case of the tank tracks) and then adding another shape layer for the inner axel. That's how I did the tank tracks, and turning off the chain pins and chain back. You can also download the free version, it creates a fully working chain & sprockets at one size, so you can see if it is going to work for you. cheers
