    Ok, that's weird..that means it has problems even finding your preference file.

    The File my script needs should be located here:
    • (Windows) \Users\[user_name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\After Effects\[version]
    • (Mac OS) /Users/[user_name]/Library/
    It's the "indep-general.txt".

    Please tell me if it's there and, when you open it with a text-editor, if there's a block called "["Label Preference Color Section 5"]"

      Hmmm...Ok. That means the pref file is there and the needed block too. What's the name of the file? Maybe it's something with the naming of the file that prevents it from loading...

      The file name is: "Adobe After Effects 16.1 Prefs-indep-general.txt"

      I use 2 versions of AE 2019 and 2020, so the name of that file is changed like that, right?

      Maybe the dual install could be a problem, I'll have a look into that. I can imagine that the script can't "decide" which file to take.

      Would it be an option for you to reduce to one version? (Best would be the current version 22.0)?

      Both versions are also quite outdated, maybe that could be a problem too. I'm trying to pin it down, but my current best guess would be the old versions, maybe an update and reducing to one version can help.

    Hi!

    I've made a custom test-version of Advanced selection, please give it a try. This version should create a window on startup that tells you type and content of a specific variable, that seems to be faulty for you. Please tell me, whtat the prompt tells you, thx.

    If you use standard label colors it should be "string" and "B53838".

    Are you using another script and/or 3rd party extension or plugin? And are your label colors standard colors or customized?

      I use standard label but I use a lot of script/plugins andI don't know which plugin caused the above situation
