Yep, currently it's just parenting and anchoring. IK rigging is in the near future!

Even without it, the current tool still makes preparing characters for animation so much quicker and easier. Then you can support it with whichever IK tool you have on hand. Feel free to try out the trial version and see how you go!
  • Got a trial version. Using a German version of AE. While I tried to use it the first time, it told me, it broke while trying to colorize the anchor dot points. As well i got Expression Error Alert. To me, it seems there's only an English expression language in use and not a universal. Is it possible to change this? Like the possibilities of the Script and would like to use at least the pro version.
  • This script is very helpful for my work, after I saw the overview video I immediately downloaded the trial version, after I tried it without thinking I immediately bought it, anchoring and parenting were very boring before I found this script, thank you for making this helpful script
  • Sound good .. but not working ! Same probleme (me i Am french version after effects) and same problem than lutz krekel  ...

    :(
  • Oh bugger, yep I'll get onto those international languages problems over the next few days. Thanks for bringing these to my attention! I'll keep you updated once it's been fixed.
  • Hi Lutz and Julien. I have released an updated version of Sticky-Web which now supports non-English versions of After Effects.

I have tested it on my computer in various languages (including French and German), and it seems to work. But I'd love to know if you two still have any problems.

I have updated this in the Full Version and the Free Trial, so give either of them an update and let me know how it goes.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention!
  • Hey Alex Stoij , works just for step 1 , the button sticky go to create anchors points, but... after nothing moove and works for me...
  • I can't seem to recreate that problem. Try this out:

If you want to move the anchor points, you need to select the [ Anchors ] layer:

    image

In the Anchors layer, this is where you move the anchor points. If you don't select the Anchors layer, then you might accidentally be moving the Web layer instead.

When the Anchor layer is selected, go to the composition and make sure 'Toggle Mask and Shape Visibility' button is turned on:

    image

The Anchors are mask points. So to move them, you need to be able to see the mask points.

If you want to see this in action, we go over it in the Full Overview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKxAeumXwDk&t=72s

If it's still not working, open a support ticket and send me more details.

  • I bought it and I'm excited to try it out but wondering how you created the bouncing and inertia effect.  I know that's not part of Sticky-Web but just curious how you did it.
    Thanks!

  • Hey Stephen, I'm guessing you meant for the title, right?

First, I animated each letter in with a scale/rotation animation, with a custom 'Inertia/Bounce' expression.
Then, I staggered them so that they revealed one after the other.
Finally, I parented each letter to the letter right behind it. So S > T > I > C... etc. (I used Sticky-Web to parent. It only felt right! )
That way, each letter's bounce influenced the next letter, and so on and so forth. It created a nice 'wobble' look to it.

I've attached the title animation here, if you wanted to check it out!
  • Hi, may I ask if the IK is flippable?
  • Hi, may I ask if the IK is flippable?
Yes it is; it comes with a checkbox switch to toggle IK direction.
