Hello, Can you please fix error. I downloaded from Luma Ai with ply file. Im getting error when using plugin. "File doesn't contain gaussian splats. Property y must by of type float". **this error was from .point cloud. I downloaded using both methods (.ply point cloud, and Full mesh). Don't know how this is possible when this is a gaussian file. I got "must be only one element with name "vertex" but have "vertex", "face". This was all in vertical format too (1080 by 1920) **this error was from Full mesh.ply.

Download gaussian splat from polycam
Have you downloaded Splat PLY?
Yes, and it does it to all my polycam models, it doesn't work.

Download gaussian splat from polycam
I encountered the same error after downloading the .ply file from Polycam. It seems to be fine with some scans, but not with others.
Hey there, it seems that this just happened recently. I had been playing with Splats generated through Polycam, using the Gaussian Splatting plugin (to great effect), and now all the newly generated models from Polycam cause AE to show the same error message ("Unexpected property nz and not scale_0 before scale_1").
I wonder if something in Polycam's method caused the format to be slightly different.
I really would like to find a fix for this as I was incorporating these into a show that now relies on the effect, but only had used test captures and would need to replace those with the real models.

Can you please open a ticket and send us the model for testing?
Thank you again for creating this plugin. There are still two major changes that could make it incredible. The first is to be able to adjust the color, focus, and contrast on each model independently (or be able to link this to an After Effects layer) directly in the Gaussian Splatting. And the second would be to not be limited to 5 models or to have an add-on module to assemble the Gaussians together before use. Are any updates planned soon? Thank you.

Hello, we have a plan to add a special rendering mode Matte Object. It will allow you to build a complex scene and divide it into a few layers. In each layer only one model will be visible. Other models will be in matte mode. It means you can color correct models independently with AE filters. And all models will be in the same 3D space. We can increase model count. Will 10 be enough?
First: I LOVE THIS!!! So simple to use and so much potential after just playing with it for a few hours! Works without any issues which is rare for newer plugins that do 3D. No freezes, crashes or any other issues. Superb job with this plugin.
Second - a question: For lighting the splat is there any chance this will be something in future updates or will any re-lighting need to be done in third party software like C4D or Blender?

You can do relight right now with our plugin Potok https://aescripts.com/potok. Will post some tests in a couple days
Hi! First I wanna say I really like this product and the fact that you have made it.
Now, I'm having issues rendering this out. I have a scan of myself on a bench, and I have a 180 degree flyby with the camera, starting from above and behind me and ending up in front. During that camera travel, I can only get the green render line in my timeline about half the frames before it refuses to show me the rest of the frames.
I have tried restarting, changing the camera angle, changing the splat model from Model 1 to Model 2, and I have emptied my caches several times. Please have a look at this if possible

Hello, do you have any error messages or black screen?
This happens only on preview? Have you tried to render to mov?
Fantastic plugin. Some suggestions: - a global transform to quickly transform the whole set - custom names option for the models - global switch off/on for all activated/show pivots/centers - min value option for scale effect Keep up the good work!
Hi! Thank you so much for making this plug-in. I tried the one that was linked on Luma AI's website with UE as well and yours is much easier to work with especially in terms of color-correcting! The project I'm currently working on needs me to export edited gaussian splat ply. files to other 3D formats (gltf. preferably). I saw that the newest version update of your plug-in contains an 'export' feature which I located at the very bottom of the Gaussian Splatting window but what I get after the export is a document file. When I use AE's built-in export to export to c4d, my cinema 4D app crashes every time opening the file. I was wondering if your plug-in currently supports exporting gs ply. files to other formats or if there are other export plug-ins I can use on top of yours to export the assets out of AE? (or maybe I'm using your 'export' feature wrong?)

Try to add an extension to exported file: (.ply)
And please let me know if it helps

Hi! After adding (.ply) at the end of the file name it did export as a .ply file. However I tried importing the file to both blender (with Gaussian Splatting add-on applied) and Meshlab, but the file is missing all texture in both softwares. I know ply. files record textures quite unstably compared to other formats but do you know any way I can keep the textures when exporting? Thank you:P

We can export only gaussian splatting to ply. We can’t convert to other formats. Export needs to combine few models to a single one. Or to export cropped version

Currently I have eight different imported ply. files in the model 1-8 tabs. Do I need to take extra steps to combine them? The ply. file I exported following your guidelines had all the files (cropped) but again the textures are missing. Are there ways I can embed the textures in the exported file? Or is there some reason why other 3D softwares are not reading the embedded ply. textures?
I noticed Gaussian elements doesn't occlude other After Effects elements. So if I have a Gaussian Splat capture with a car in a city-street, I can't add a 3d plane with the image of a building, behind the car. The 3d plane just seems to "shine through" the Gaussian layer. Is that something that will be supported at some point?
I know this one is probably a long-shot, but is there any chance that the plugin will support AE lights/shadow at some point?
Hi, it's maybe a stupid question, but I can't rid off the red lines crossing my solid. I can't find where to hide them. First I thought it will not appear on my export, but they are still there. Can someone tell me how to hide them please? Thanks a lot.

It sounds frustrating to encounter these errors with your Luma AI downloads. The issue with the PLY file not containing the expected Gaussian splats suggests a possible format mismatch. The "must be only one element with name 'vertex'" error indicates the file may not be structured correctly for the plugin. It might help to double-check the export settins in Luma AI or try re-exporting the files in a compatible format.
Please look at this screenshot. you need to click on "Gaussian Splat" button to get correct format
I have been using the plug-in on a few scenes. It has great functionality, but recently I noticed that the image quality if far less than the original. It appears lower resolution as if there is some "painting filter" applied to it. The image on the left (Irrealix) is the default setting in After Effects. Is there some set-up that I am missing?

Download gaussian splat from polycam
Just solved Polycam models issue. Please download update with v1.1.1
You need to scale up the model. Currently clipping planes is not editable. Will add this features layer
Here's a small feature request list
*+1 for clipping plane!
*An invert tick box for effect selection boxes
Is it possible to export the ply after aligning (e.g positioning and/or orienting) the axis?
You can export to ply since v1.2 You can only scale by model. But if you export few models in single ply you can scale it as single mode
Sure, download a try version and test it
You can do relight right now with our plugin Potok https://aescripts.com/potok. Will post some tests in a couple days

A few questions:
Ply format can contain mesh or gaussian splatting. This models is just mesh. You need Gaussian splatting scans
Thanks a lot.
Thank you very much
Anyhone fgot a workaround for this issue? I'm using polycam and it wont import any of the ply files i export
