Hi Kirk
It should appear in the Effect's panel under the Plugin Everything category. These are the installation directories, please check if it's in the correct location and let me know if it still doesn't appear:
Windows:
Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects <version>\Support Files\Plug-ins
Mac:
Applications/Adobe After Effects <version>/Plug-ins
but with multilines/paragraph, is there a way to to have a box per line,, so the width of the box is adjust at each line,, rather that one set width for the whole paragraph?
if not currently possible natively, is there a way around to achieve this, like in combination with another script or something?
please let me know
thanks
Nick
Hi Nick
Thanks for your comment. It's not currently possible but seems like a good feature to add, I'll give it a shot. In the meantime, I'd use decompose text script to separate by line and add a textbox to each. Not ideal but that's the best solution I can suggest.
thanks for the speedy response
looking forward to see if you can make it work,,, as it woudbe really great
& thanks for the suggestions, but unfortunately it would not work in this case, as the text is in a constant state of flux via the expressions text transitions,, so it's all dynamic. & never static
hey
have you found any solution to the multiline text box/individual word box?
just bought textbox and played a little. Great plugin and a massive timesaver. Anyway, here are two feature requests:
(1) It would be great if you could unlock (and lock again) the boxes dimensions dependence to the text and if the locking/unlocking would be keyframeable. So in some cases the box could keep its current size while the text is animated (opacity, scale, etc).
(2) It would also be great if the size/dimensions of a box could be displayed in pixels within the GUI - that way one could use this information to easily create a solid or shape layer with the exact same sizes – or, even better ) would of course be the possibility to just click a button at any time (and any size of the box) that creates another box on its own layer reflecting the current box size, but not containing the text (just another shape layer and/or solid).

Hi Lars
Thanks for the feedback. The first suggestion you have is a feature in v2! The second feature would also be good. Unfortunately I can't programatically create custom shape layers, but I can using solids and masks.
exactly sized solids by the click of a button would still be fantastic! I'm really looking forward to v2 – do you already know when we can expect the release?

So happy to hear that Justin! We'll be releasing new features in the new year
Question before buying: If I use this to create MOGRT's for Premiere Pro, does the TextBox plugin have to be installed on the system for the MOGRT to work in Premiere? I want to create a MOGRT and use it on a different computer.

Hi Brent
Yes, it would need to be installed on each computer unfortunately.
I would buy this plugin if multiple line text would be introduced.
I've created those image if it helps:
This is how it looks right now:
This is how it could show multiple lines of text:
And an awesome feature would be round inner corners, something similar to when you add text over an image in the Instagram photo editor:
Hi Caroline
Thanks for your suggestions and for posting images, that helps a lot. We've got a few requests for such a feature and we're just looking into how we'd go about implementing it.
