GIFGUN2 has been a major improvement! Worked great for about a month, but for some reason I'm encountering all these partial frame duplicates/tracers when using alpha setting on the gif exporter. Not sure what's going on???

You won't need to upgrade for every AE version. GifGun 2 is a major upgrade to GifGun 1 and is a one-time purchase until the next major version.

Make sure you are using the latest GifGun 2 update, we had this trail issue fixed. If that's the case and you still have trails, please open a support ticket.
hi, i just bought this plugin. The settings disapear after a couple of uses - means i have to restart AE each time i need to change anything! very annoying, could you lmk a fix? Im on mac, latest AE

Do you mean, you can't open the Settings window, or the settings window becomes blank after those uses? Could you please send us a screen recording of this behavior as a support ticket?
Hi there, just updated to gifgun 2, and there don't seem to be any presets in the dropdown, or the 'gifgun presets' folder, so I'm not clear how to keep transparency without those. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Every time I click ok, it pops back up like spam. It takes 4 clicks to go away.

Hey friends, I am getting this error too. My AE and Gif Gun are updated, still the errors come up. I uninstalled it, restarted everything, installed it again via the AEscript plugin installer, still experiencing the problem.
Could use some help. no matter what I do, I can not get anywhere near as close as quality as marketing images/examples. I consistently get terribly bad jagged edges, yet when I do the process manually (export video, then photoshop) its tons better. a
Is there a way to keep it from compressing so much?
I got this similar issue, I used the traditional way and it get a better quality with a similar file size.
Feature request: A way to maintain certain colors? similar to how Photoshop does it.
I work with clients who often want gifs that go past 256 Colors. Gif Gun or any gif maker is going to compress those colors down to get to 256, but sometimes it changes colors that I need to maintain.
Example :
-Logos colors that I need to try to keep close to the original color will change quite drastically,
-An email will have a gif that connects to a white background and the color in the gif will be off-white.
-A gif that is connected to an image but just a sliver on the edge of the gif. that drastically changes the gif's color.
Currently, the only option is "Preserve colors per frame" which gets close to the original color it then causes flickering throughout the animation. (See Attached)
I have no understanding of how Gifgun is written and if something like a color picker / Specific Color maintainer is possible but it would be extremely helpful
QUESTION: Why don't you use your high quality GIFs in this promo instead of looping videos? My 1st though was, if it's so great, why not use GIFs and show it off? But instead you are using looping videos. How come?

GifGun 2 is a product focused for "anything looping", and we use a mix of GIFs and WEBMs in the promo.
GIF as a format is notoriously hard to optimize, and some things like complex graidents are almost impossible to render properly. Websites are using more mixed formats, and we rendered everything we have on the GifGun 2 aescripts page to mp4 and webm with GifGun 2 itself.

As per keeping a certain color, we plan to implement that however it's quite hard as it involves rewriting parts of ffmpeg code. But rest assured, we are set on implementing that!

Love GifGun! I just wanted to share two small feature requests, please:
The toggle to resize a comp to a specific width or height is very useful, and it'd be a help if there were an option to resize to Largest Dimension, rather than only choosing Height or Width. That way, landscape and portrait comps can be scaled appropriately at the same time.
Additionally, it could be a help to be able to specify a percentage instead of a fixed pixel value.
Question: I noticed when exporting my GIFS, all hyphens in the filenames are converted to underscores. Part of my workflow requires a rigorous naming convention using both underscores and hyphens. Is it possible to maintain hyphens used in my AE comp names when exporting to GIF?

I can get around the error messages by running AE with admin privileges (which is really annoying), but it still won't let me to change the custom output folder (nothing happens when I click).
And I can only press "Make GIF" once, the button stays pressed and nothing happens.

Hi, I'm experiencing a glitch issue with GIFGun that appears randomly and inconsistently. Using the same video, sometimes the glitch occurs, and other times it doesn't. Any idea how I might fix this?

whenever i try and change the output folder or any other setting all i get is this, so can't use at all at the moment
