Love the look of this. I have a hopefully quick question; can this work with GeoTiffs?
For instance, can you extract height (if available) and texture data from a single or set of GeoTiff files that you already own and have as local media?
Or, could you texture heightmaps retrieved from GEOlayers with your own GeoTiff imagery without having to manually line the two up? Either would work for me. sorry if I have missed this from the info already provided.

Hi Michael
You can use create a local tile Directory with a Software like https://www.maptiler.com/ from the geotiff set. This can be used with GEOlayers. Apart from that you can Import the Image to AE and snap it to any mapcomp by typing in the Coordinates of its upper left and lower right corner. This doesn't work automatically and is not 100% accurate if the projection of the geotiff is different than Mercator Projection.
I have an issue of finalization that I unfortunately cannot solve with your tutorials. The tiles within the GEOlayer composition have a really strange behavior, as you can see in the attached screenshots.
Even after several successful good quality finalizations, the beginning of the animation remains blurry. Also, parts of the composition are tile-empty at some point during the animation. The LatLongZoom movement is rather straightforward and smooth, with only zooms and dezooms in 2D, but the plugin does not seem to get all the data necessary to fill the composition with all tiles it requires.
I wondered if it was because I added intermediary keyframes retroactively in order to smooth and slow some movements... could it be that? do you have an idea of what I could do?

Hello Cécile,
could you please send us the project. We we'll have a look. I think it could help to delete all tiles and purge the tile cache.

Hello Nico,
I have purged pretty much everything I could (tiles, GEOlayers cache, AE cache and memory) but with no luck. I have tried to switch servers and come back to Bing aerials, and with the preview it looked like it would work, but when i finalized it went blurry again.
Here is a link to download the project with the problematic sequence:

I had a look in your project. It is very important to set the workarea for your comp correctly, because GEOlayers finalize only the frames inside the workarea.
Okay I think I see what you mean. I have tried to make a new composition and copy the keyframes to have the same movement, by copy-paste and by entering the coordinates manually, but the problem remains. The anchor point (little target icon) moves to the top left of the screen, as if the values of my keyframes are flawed.
How can i be sure the workarea of the comp is set correctly?
And is there a magical way i can get back the same exact movement from these keyframes or i must start all over again?

Hello Cécile,
you can set up your work area by clicking and dragging the time slider.
I want to use the maps as 3D layers, but without using MIR. There is a nice tutorial on getting horizon view for Geolayers 1, but not for Geolayers 2. How can I make my map comp layer 3D, but it not get cut off at the comp size?
Markus - I tried pasting some of these URI's into GEOlayers 2, and am not getting any tiles to download. Have the ESRI URI's changed? Sorry that I'm not an API wonk...
I keep running out of memory in AE cc 2017 ( 30 GB physical memory and 100 GB disk cache). Do you have any tips as work around especially when trying to finalize in higher quality?

Hello Kevin,
please change the variables from {{ZoomLevel}} to {z}, {{pY}} to {Y} and {{pX}} to {X}. That should work.

Nico -- Thanks for the reply. Changing the variables does give me the default image, but something's not working with the zoom levels.
I'm working with the "USA_Topo_Maps" version, so I'm using http://server.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/USA_Topo_Maps/MapServer/tile/{{z}}/{{x}}/{{y}}.{fileextension} as my mask, with JPG selected as the extension. I have the max. Zoomlevel set at 18, checked "Crossfade Zoomlevels" on, and have an attribution listed.

Hello Kevin, What's wrong with the zoom level? Could you please open a support ticket and send us a screenshot? That would help solving the problem. Thank you.

Hello Kevin,
I created a server-profile for ARCGIS-USA_Topo_Map and attached to this comment. You can load it by open the settings-dialog ->server-profiles -> load server-profile. Choose my preset. After that you should have a correct map. Let me know if that helped.
I'm currently trying to use geolayers in conjunction with mapbox studio, but several layers that are visible in studio aren't visible in AE within my Geolayers Map comp. Others look the same.
Hi - about to purchase the plugin but was wondering if there was a more deliberate tutorial available OR does anyone know which order to watch the YouTube playlist in...? as it looks like they are a little jumbled. I don't even mind paying for better training and I'm an intermediate AE user. I'm stoked to start on this thing. Any advice at all would be welcome. TY

I wanted to know how I can match a camera movement to the GeoLayers controler movement, to match some overlays elements. I tried linking some properties, but the movement is inversed.

Hi Julien, no need to do so. You can simply parent any layer to the Mapcomps Anchor Layer and it will exaclty match the map animation.
Hi - I have a 20 second map that has been stuck on finalizing all afternoon. I've cleared my cache, tried saving the project in different locations and rebooted both AE and my machine...
