Scripts Crashing in macOS Monterey
Issue
We have had a few reports from some macOS Monterey users that are experiencing crashes or beachballs when launching scripts. Unfortunately this is due to an issue that Apple introduced which is outside of our control.
Workaround
The hang seems to be happening when the script checks online to see if there are any new versions available.
The workaround is to hold down the Option and Shift keys while launching the script.
Once the script has launched you can release them. You will see an alert indicating the "new version update checks have been disabled". Hit OK and the script will launch.
Please note you might need to do this every time you launch the script until we are able to find a permanent solution.
Solution
We are exploring a solution that will sidestep this bug from Apple and hope to have it deployed soon.
