This script allows you to speed up or slow down a video according to an Audio Amplitude layer. When audio amplitude is low, timeRemap increases slowly, while it increases quickly when amplitude is high. A slider is created on the audio layer for controlling playback acceleration.

This script has not been updated to work with 5.5 yet. You can quickly tell what versions of After Effects all our scripts work with by looking at the icons on the top right corner.
some problem like Wolle…”This script requires After Effects CS3 or later. Supported languages are english and french” but i have CS5
Hi Charles, thx for this great script, i really enjoy it!
When i use a 2-3 min. sound track, and a really small proxy video (320×160), after effects is always beeing blocked for some minutes, after changing the parameters (min, max, forward).
In my system monitor one or two kernels are working with about 25% and the memory is not yet full (2,3 from 8 GB).
Do You have an idea, how to improve the scripts performance?
THX a lot!
Very nice. I resolved error language problem and now i can use your script. It is very good. Can you make other similar script only for pick of range for to use on the adjustament layer opacity?
Sorry for my english.
@ ryan: The music is Carl Orff, Carmina Burana.
What music did you use in the demo video? I have been looking all over for it
Really good idea, but I cant use your script:
“Script error:
This script requires After Effects CS3 or later. Supported languages are english and french.”
(I HAVE After Effects CS4, german version….)
Select your audio layer > right-click > keyframe assistant > convert audio to keyframes
Now select your footage layer and go to file > scripts > and choose AudioAmpToVideoSpeed.jsx
That’s it.
