Features

The Advanced Selection panel features three modes of operation: "AND Mode", "OR Mode" and "NOR Mode".


Advanced Selection Title


  1. Select a composition in the project window and set filters by clicking on one or multiple elements in the list.Multiple selections are possible by holding down the ctrl/cmd button.
  2. Select the mode of operation - if you want to filter all layers that bear at least one selected criteria with the 'OR' button (or 'NOR' for inverted results) or use the 'AND' button for layers that only bear all selected criteria.
  3. Activate the selected filters by clicking on the 'Select Layer' Button.

AND Mode

In "AND Mode" all selected criteria must be met at the same time.

In "OR Mode" all layers that bear at least one selected criteria are selected.

In "NOR Mode" (inverted OR) everything except the selection will be selected

Recursive Selection


With Update 1.2 of Advanced Selection you may now choose the level of your selection:


  • Just Active Comp - Selects inside the currently active composition
  • Active Comp +1 - Selects inside the currently active composition plus one level deeper in precomps
  • Recursive - Selects inside the currently active composition and in all precomps (of precomps, of precomps...you get the idea.)
  • All Comps - Selects inside all compositions in the whole project.

Post Selection Actions


With Update 1.3 of Advanced Selection three new actions are available after the principal selection is done:


  • Visibility Control - Enable or disable the video (eye symbol) and/or audio (loudspeaker symbol) settings of selected layers.
  • Set Solo - Enable or disable the Solo setting of selected layers.
  • Lock Layers - Enable or disable the Lock setting of selected layers.
