Local Hero is a script for localizing the network assets in your project, letting you work smoothly without the frustrations of slow network pipes!

So you're working at a studio, and your Ultra HDR 8k Dynamic Range EXR VR 3D Multipass Ultrasharp footage is taking FOREVER for AE to stream off the network. THIS SUCKS!

Wouldn't it be great if you could easily just work off your local computer, without having to worry about relinking and replacing all your footage paths, and then having to relink them once you're back on the network? Yes. Yes it would.

Or, as a producer, easily bundle projects to give to freelancers without adding a tonne of work when you want to bring the project back into your network, as Collect trashes the original path links.

Local Hero operates in two modes: Proxy and Replace

Proxy Mode sets the your project item to use the local asset as a proxy, allowing for easy eabling & disabling.

Replace Mode replaces your project item's file directly with the local version. To disable Replace, it's best to use Local Hero's DELOCALIZE function
