Duplicating Comps: If you find the need to duplicate a comp (complex, multi-lined connected nodes might be an example of one useage), always keep in mind that the nodes are duplictes and always controlled byt the Master Control Layer in thier original comp, not the one in the duplicated comp.
Lines draw on before Node fade is complete: Lines are triggered at the beginning of a node animation. If you'd like to delay that, simply unshy the comp and slide the line layer later.
